Grape fruit is of course very much present and is a bit soapy. This beer is, however, not sweet at all. Hops are the focal point and it is very much present. Green teeth and all that. Alcohol content is very much hidden... Dhrjericho (66), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 27, 2006 Pours a murky amber with lots of large particles. Aroma of a sugary malt with mild hops. Flavor is nice intense sweet hoppiness with real bite. The sweetness offsets the solid hops and makes this a pleasurable IPA (Double that is). omhper (12171), Stockholm, Sweden
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 27, 2006 Bottled. Deep amber, minimal head. Fruity, flowery hop aroma. Dry and surprisingly light bodied. Very drinkable for it’s size. Pleasant lightly resiny notes mingle with sweaty grapefruit. Very bitter finish. Fresh and (given it’s size) very drinkable with all focus on the hops. notalush (2645), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 24, 2006 Hazy orange color - biscuity aroma, with copious piney hops - it has the delicate nature distinctinve of most TB beers, but the aggressive, brutal hoppiness expected of the style layers itself on top of that much better than expected - it certainly is juicy, because the mouth waters from the well-blended hops - a nice accomplishment from a brewery that I thought couldn’t make a decent "big beer." | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 23, 2006 Nice orange copper color with a medium foamy head and sediments floating around. Mega intense hop dolds nose. Suprisingly smooth with a nice medium hoppy taste that lasts medium long. As it warms up it gets harsher. pivo (2535), Germany
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 22, 2006 Fresh hop nose - like hop cones right from the vine. Hazy dark copper color, foamy head. Full caramelly malt with a HUGE hop end. High res hop bitter across the mouth. Hops a-go-go, but fresh and controlled. Excellent. brewblackhole (1370), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 20, 2006 Hoppy floral aroma, mildly inticing ,but not really strong, purely grapefuit hop taste, with immensely bitter finish, some malt trying to balance the brew, body a little thin for a Double IPA,as many particles in a brew as I ever saw, simply a hop overload ,but doesn’t have all the parts to make it really special blankboy (3201), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 20, 2006 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a hazy copper-orange with lots of floaties and a small diminishing off-white head. Aroma is big time citrus hops, lots of grapefruit and oranges -- I love it! The flavour -- oh yeah! -- juicy fresh hops -- delicious! This is 9.9% alcohol? Hard to believe, there’s no sign of the alcohol at all. Nice body, creamy mouthfeel. This goes down so easy and it gets better and better the more you drink it. Fantastic!
