Like Duane said, the hops didn’t seem as strong as they probably would have had we not just done a side-by-side of Two Hearted and Founders Centennial IPA, but nonetheless, tons of hops here. Not as much malt as I expected for a Double IPA, but this was pretty darn good anyway. gearbike (414), West Bloomfield, Michigan, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 24, 2006 Copper pour smallish white head. Sweet floral hops aroma. Watery on the palate hops and a slight tobaco note in the finish. If this is 10% abv then my tolerance is way up as I didn’t feel too much alcohol presence at all. Micro-bubble head with nice retention, gradual lacing as it recedes. Grapefruit and pine aromas. Upfront sweet thick malt which quickly turns to a lingering bitter hop citrus finish. barleyPops (1079), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 19, 2006 shared a bomber with illini08. we drank this after a side-by-side tasting of Founders Centennial & a Bell’s Two Hearted Ale, so I’m sure the bitterness of this one didn’t seem as harsh as it could have been. but that said, I enjoyed this one. citrus hop bitterness from front to back and while the hops overpowered the malt, there was still enough malt present to be detectable. one year ago I probably would have still been puckered up hours after finishing this one. So I guess its official, I’m a hophead, cause this was very enjoyable! SpringsLicker (2042), Tennessee, USA

Thick citrus aroma.
Dry bitterness sets in at the start and follows all the way through to the long bitter finish. The bitterness overpowers the malt in this one. eve (240), Iowa City, Iowa, USA

Deep orange-gold and hazy with hop sediment, big thick creamy head. Taste is cut grass, grapefruit, dandelion, silky palate, long bitter finish. SoLan (1411), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 11, 2006 Updated: Mar 12, 2006Thanks to JPDIPSO for the trade. Murky copper. Small off white head. Nose of resinous, piney hops, doughy yeast, and some subtle, slightly roasty malt. Flavor is the full hop spectrum, citrus, pine , resin. Nice supporting malt. Aftertaste of dry, gritty, peppery hops. Medium body is syrupy and lighter than expected with balanced carbonation. Perfectly named brew. If somebody made some hop juice, this is what it would be like.
