Commercial Description:
Hop Juice is one of a series of special limited-run beers in styles that are more extreme or unusual. This one is a real hop blast, dripping with the resiny soul of fresh Northwest hops. Don't come crying to us if it's too much for you; this one's for hopheads only! And get it now, cause when it's gone, it's gone. Boo hoo. 22.7 Plato 100.1 IBU

Pours a dirty brown color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts and earthy hops. Taste is very malty; caramel and syrupy sweetness. Almost no citrus or vibrant hop characteristics come across. A big let down. Hop heads only? I’d like it if there were some hops in it.

Take the warnings on this bottle seriously. The deep red orange brew capped with an orangey peach head packs a big hoppy punch. Thick skunk aromas, very hop-heavy carry hints of cranberry dryness in the aromas. Big and very bitter in the mouth, it surpasses bitterness and becomes outrageously rich. It is slightly woody too but gives a real halitosis finish. It is not hugely appealing to me, a bit full on and heady. The warning on the label makes it seem fair enough though.

Shared with my buddy before the Railroad Earth show last Friday. Poured a beautiful semi hazey copper colour with a big off white head. Taste was generously hoppy super satisfying and pleasent with grapefruit and plenty of citrus character. Aroma is slightly floral with fruity notes and soft pine. Otherwise astringent taste, a little chewy in the finish and very firm on the palate.

shutter-buggery!?!? drank during the 4th quarter of the ’09 Superbowl .. . abv is non existent .. . very nice foam .. . wonderfully full, life’s a beach! .. . one of the sweeter IIPA’s which i really like ..also one of the smoothest IIPA’s ever .. . dark rust color .. . maple, pine cone aromas .. . that’s what we call a manatee, boys; or in nautical terms, the seacow!

Very good & dense mango-coloured head, very even over slightly hazy red-orange beer, and leaving lacerings. Citrussy, resiny aromas, even nearly white spirit; bit of rosemary and lytchee. Rather hard, resiny & bittter flavours, going to quinine-like dimensions. Still, some cookie-sweetness lurking below, and generally very aromatic. Retronasal lemon- or grapefruitpeel. Very well-bodied, slick and oily-sticky, remindful of the fresh hopflower. Bit burning MF. As they say, a beer for the real hopheads, not for the faint-hearted. I think I can live with that. Thanks to DavidA!

Big sweet beer, caramell all over the place.. Well hidden alcohol and a slick mouthfeel though. The aftertaste is all caramell and raisiny hops. Rather unfresh but still drinkable if youre in the mood for a big, sticky sweet one
