Nose is very subdued. Taste is a bunch of hops with little alcohol burn. Still, lots of booze... BOLTZ7555 (1122), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 5, 2009 Vibrant tangerine pour with hints of 24 karat gold and a massive ivory head that left a spider’s web of lacing. Aroma shows citrus and pine but also balance with caramel and biscuit notes. Similarly, the flavor isn’t overly aggressive and bitter like most West Coast IPAs...lemongrass, orange peel, honey, all fresh baked bread even one another out. Medium to syrupy mouthfeel. Lingers on the palate. Yum. ehhdayton (1118), USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 22, 2005 A light golden color with a piney floral aroma. Very strong hop presence and not much malt flavor. Finishes with a strong bitterness. A very pleasant aftertase. pineypower (1111), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 12, 2007 Found at a beer shop out in PA on my recent visit. Hazy dark orange body with a one- two finger fluffy white head. Aroma is of citrus hops. Taste is up front unapologetically hoppy, mostly citrus. Slight caramel/sweet malt flavors going on in the background, but the hops prevail, as they should in a double IPA of 100 IBU’s. kenb (1101), Oregon, USA

Pours a hazy copper with an average size beige head. Nose is pure citrus hopiness.and then some! It tastes almost like smells but has a VERY DRY finish...and lots of grapefruit in the aftertaste.but again it is dry not sweet n juicy. Body is medium, carbonation is moderate/high. Quite good, but needs more flavor/dry hops to be GREAT...... BREWMUSKCLES (1095), New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 2, 2008 quite a nice ipa. nice caramel sweetness in a quality straw malt backbone. the hop character is grapefruit with moderate bitterness. the carbonation is moderate and the beer has a good nose to it. one can hardly sense the alcohol. good beer. really not exactly a blast....but good beer. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 15, 2007 Very hoppy, very bitter. I love this beer. Suprisingly smooth considering the absurd amount of hops in it. Just the right amount of body to smooth out the citrus, bitterness, and alcohol without being to sweet. Nice. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 14, 2005 After having a few beers that were head heavy, this was a nice change of pace. A rough pour gave it a small head then went down to just a ring on the side of the glass by the time it took to type this. The beer itself it a nice murky dark orange with some particles floating within. The aroma is a hay-like floral smell, not as much citrus as some, but good nonetheless. The flavor for this has a real malty characteristic before the hop assult comes. Even when the lemony and sweetness comes at you, there is still a taste of some serious lingering around. The hoppiness isnt too brutal on this beer, which is really pleasing. The mouthfeel for this is really calm and soothing, very viscous.
