3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle - Pours mostly clear amber as most of the yeast stuck in the bottom of the bottle. It smells of tart cherries. The flavor is very sweet and doesn’t strike me as sour tasting at all. There’s a berry character along with some notes of caramel and perhaps even chocolate. Unusual. It’s fairly good but it’s not definitely what I expected.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
12.7 oz corked and caged bottle. Mostly clear red color. Bubbles on side of the glass. Minimal off-white head. Little lace. Very light carbonation. Slightly syrupy texture. Medium body. Only lightly sour, light bitter. Light oaky, spice and caramel malt aroma. Some dark fruit Neither offensive, nor particularly tasty. Mildly interesting. Gets much better as it sits and warms, though.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
8th beer of blind tasting. Orange-copper color with no head, very little lacing, dark, cannot see through it. This came off as least powerful of all the previous beers. Aroma is kind of musky and dusty. Old malts arise from it. It’s a malt heavy sour ale and low on sour. Flavor has sweet malts, slightly tangy, and sweet berries. Palate is thick but goes down easy. Decent but not a real sour. 7/3/7/3/15, Standing in the tasting: personal – tied for 7th, overall – 6th Picked this up at Zipps.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Tasted on 8/9/11 from a 375mL corked and caged bottle purchased at Discount Liquor a while ago. Pours hazy mahogany with a thin beige head that slowly recedes to nothing more than a thin collar of lace. Not much going on here. The nose is a sour blend of lemon, raspberry, and green apple with some dusty earthy aromas underlying. The flavor is lightly sour with vegetal caramel malt, and something slightly metallic. The body is medium with light carbonation and a medium vegetal, metallic, and lightly sour finish.
