Dough77 (771), Aurora, Illinois, USA Oct 5, 2007 Pours a dark black pour with minimal beige head. Nose is heavy on chocolate malts as well as some coffee and a hint of hop. Body is a little thin. Flavors are heavier on chocolate and coffee then in the aroma. Tasty, but for my imperials I’ll take em a little thicker and heavier. KAF (441), Coralville, Iowa, USA Sep 27, 2007 This is a great imperial stout. A little bit dry though. Very dark in color, almost black. Coffee and chocolate notes. MullMan (1080), Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA Sep 14, 2007 chocolate black color, dark tan head. aroma is mapley malt and a bit of smokey cured meat. flavor is chocolatey malt, a little smokey too. hoppy bitter finish. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 07/20/2005

same thin tart roasted crap, I guess I was hoping the last bottle was not a good representation but I was wrong, some ripe fruit tries to save it but way too late, picks up a smokey character after a while, some dry dark chocolate shows,

GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Aug 5, 2007 22 oz bottle. Poured an opaque black color. Head was thick and tan with good retention and lacing. Aroma was of subdued sour fruit and light roasty malt. Sweet on the tongue with chocolate and sour fruit flavors. Not much in the way of roasty bitterness or alcohol flavor. Medium-ish body. A bit uninspiring. cbkschubert (1945), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA Jul 26, 2007 22 oz. bottle courtesy of Bockyhorsey - Bottle opened with a big hiss. We know what that means. A big ass head. Maybe infection? Hope not. About 3 fingers worth and I only poured a few ounces of the beer. Pours a dark brown color with a big light tan head. Head left some nice layered lacing as it settled. Has a dusty roasted malt aroma. Flavor is roasted malt and some light chocolate. Slight roasted malt aftertaste. Light to medium body. A decent beer, but not one of the better IS’s. Thanks Wendy and Bill. wetherel (1565), Encinitas, California, USA Jul 26, 2007 Tasted at http://www.ratebeer.com/events-detail.asp?eventID=5918 with DenverLogan, and Quaff members. A little bit of roasty flavor. Very nice. Similar to OA Yeti, but with a thinner body. Blind tasting. Don’t think you can find this in SD. muddyfeet (72), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Jul 19, 2007 Pours an almost black but in reality dark, dark chocolate brown. Thick tan head that dissolved to a thin foamy veneer. Nose was a bit of an oddity-smells like ice water. Wierd...
Flavor is solid RIS. However, not one dominant flavor, just bunches of malts, chocolate and coffee tones. Come candy tones too such as licorice and caramel. Also getting some daker fruits--cherries and old dried apricots. Mouthfeel is perhaps a bit thin and watery but not too off for the style. A very easily drinkable RIS without any off-the-wall flavors or ABV.
