| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 2, 2007 black pour w/ a thick dense dark oatmeal looking head and nice lacing. Nice roasty malt aroma some light chocolates. Palate is very small for an imperial, but is ok for a normal beer. Flavor is fairly boring for a stout. Some light choclates touches of burnt bottom of the pot coffee and some dry roast malts. Not much to it. EithCubes (2146), Indiana, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 1, 2007 Bottle. Predominately chocolate nose with some strange sour yeast and bittering hops. Pitch black with a dark brown foamy/creamy head. Body has a good deal of roast and chocolate, but the interesting notes are of mochaed smoke and very light fruitiness to give a little twinge of sweetness . Medium body, a little watery at times. Aftertaste is dark, dry, and roasty with that nice smoke still coming through nicely. More of your ’everyday impy,’ high degree of drinkability with perfectly disguised alc. Fun one. Bittersweet...Roasts...Alot of Smoke Flavors..Acidic Finish..,.Alot of Flavor and an Interesting Impy..But Too Biting of Me. BeerandBlues2 (3203), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 15, 2007 Bottle purchased from Binny’s Beverage Depot-Downtown. Pours black with a small frothy dark brown head, mostly diminishing, spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (molasses, coffee), light hops (grass), average yeast (sweat) with notes of prune, tar and charcoal. Full bodied, mineral texture, soft carbonation and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness and acidty, moderate bitterness; sour milk notes. tennisjoel (939), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 14, 2007 Roasty notes. Some vanilla. An odd metallic aftertaste. Somewhat bitter and astringent. Probably one of the worst imperial stouts I’ve tried. Maybe that explains the <10 percentage within the style. Slight smoke, some dietcytal, harsh coffee. Flavors do not blend together so well. Oh well, can’t win em all. JK (2949), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 14, 2007 I won’t lie; I liked this. Aroma has charcoal. Flavor has smoke, a lot of smoke for the style. Charcoal as well. Medium sweet malt as well. A simple imperial stout, but not a bad beer at all. Heavy palate. joebrew (608), Farewell Minny; Hello Puyallup, Washington, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 12, 2007 Pours a dark brown imperial stout like color, but that is where it ends. The aroma is weak and gives a kiind of oaky sourness to the burnt aromas. Not a nice flavor and it is very watery, with slight chocolate. If I had bought this it would have gone down the drain.
