Aroma is sweet milk chocolate with some coffee notes. Taste has a Hershey’s Syrup quality. I like it. Sweet, smokey, bitter finish. Light on the palate. Not what we normally equate to imperial, but I’ll give this on a pass. I like it. argo0 (6890), Washington DC, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 20, 2006 (22oz bottle) Small tan head atop brown-black body. Aroma is medium sweet, chocolate, coffee, roast. Taste is moderately sweet, chocolate, coffee, roast, some smoke, caramel, earthy. Alcohol is remarkably masked. Creamy medium-full body, light syrup, quite drinkable for the style. Seems like a summery IS, if such a thing exists. TheOrange (405), Kent, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 8, 2006 Completely black pour, little to no brownish head. Nice roasted chocolate, malty aroma. Very nice coffee flavor in this beer. Very smooth, a bit thinner then an imperial should be. Don’t get me wrong, this is not thin, but not as full bodied as it should be. Still a very good beer. turbo (1254), Arizona, USA
