3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is dark fruit, roasted malts, mild vinous notes and coffee. The flavor is coffee, chocolate, dark fruit, roasted malts and a big tartness/acidity into the finish.

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours like it should. Black with a dark brown head. In love with the aroma, charred wood, vanilla, and dark fruits. Surprisingly smooth and creamy. The flavor isn’t bludgeoning, but what is there is tasty and well balanced. Deep roasted malt, burnt marshmallows, and eventually toffee.
Not the biggest Imperial Stout out there, but quite tasty. Quaffable, to say the least.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft to taster. Looks solid; cola with tan lacing. Smells and tastes of semi-sweet dark malt with an average mouthfeel. A decent beer overall, but weak and thin for the style.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured at refrigerator temperature into a crystal tulip.
Aroma: Dark and malty, I think I smelled some cocoa.
Appearance: Very dark black, one finger’s worth of moderately thick head, the color of coffee flavored ice cream. The head dissipates rather quickly.
Taste: Roasty malts, a slight bread flavor, a little earthiness. A bitter aftertaste, sort of like semi-sweet chocolate. At 9.1% the malts do a terrific job of masking the alcohol.
Palate: Very thick and dense. It feels like it’s leaving a slight coating in my mouth post-swallow. Pleasant and refreshing.
Other: Bonus points for moderately-high gravity.

3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours almost black, with small light-brown head. Aroma and taste dominated by roasted malt - coffee-like acridness - with some hints of chocolate. Pleasant hop bitterness balances the sweet thickness of the malts but true to style, does not takeover. Full body conceals moderate gravity. A very respectable imperial stout.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a dark black color with no head. Smells of roasted malt and bits of chocolate. Taste is not terribly complex, but good mouthfeel, with lots of roasty flavors. Not bad, but nothing special.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle. Dark brown pour with substantial brown head. Roasted coffee aroma. Strong roasted flavor, though somewhat lacking for an Imperial Stout. Strong coffee flavor with chocolate and roasted finish. Doesn't taste nearly as strong as the abv would indicate. Pretty good overall but not great as a Russian Imperial Stout.

for an imperial stout very smooth and the high Alc content is really hidden. Just a really good crafted brew. High marks for the overall taste and after taste on this local brew
