Viscous black, no head. Aroma of licorice and molasses. Full bodied with clean mouthfeel and oily malt. Roasty coffee wrapped in plastic, dipped in oily molasses and powdered with sugars. Sem pear esters come through. Warming but sticky. joergen (8429), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 20, 2009 Bottle at Monks Café, Wallingatan.

same thin tart roasted crap, I guess I was hoping the last bottle was not a good representation but I was wrong, some ripe fruit tries to save it but way too late, picks up a smokey character after a while, some dry dark chocolate shows,

Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam May 23, 2002 Chocolatey, hoppy, kind of low on the abv, lacking fruitiness but has no shortage of roast - like the Wellington County. argo0 (6842), Washington DC, USA Aug 20, 2006 (22oz bottle) Small tan head atop brown-black body. Aroma is medium sweet, chocolate, coffee, roast. Taste is moderately sweet, chocolate, coffee, roast, some smoke, caramel, earthy. Alcohol is remarkably masked. Creamy medium-full body, light syrup, quite drinkable for the style. Seems like a summery IS, if such a thing exists. Rastacouere (5551), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Mar 9, 2006 Almost black except the very boundaries, decent lacing browses the off-white head that remains pretty small. Oatmealish grainy smell bears a vegetal aspect that I’d link with turnips. Otherwise, mostly one-dimensional coffee oriented stout, showcasing its roastiness. The vegetal fears from the aroma are established in mouth where the palate is sweet and once again playing on light chocolate and stronger coffee nuances. Medium bodied, sticky sweet, very light carbonation. Not a big fan, without much identity and unpolished mouthfeel. hopdog (5525), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 27, 2005 12oz bottle. Poured a dark brown with an averaged sized tan head. Some big floaters at the bottlom. Aromas of roasted malts, dark fruits and light chocolate. Tastes of roasted malts, dark fruits, chocolate and some coffee. Starts out sweet and ends in a light bitter finish. A bit thin for an imperial stout. hopscotch (5437), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jul 17, 2007 Bottle... RBSG 07... Pours very black with a small, creamy, light brown head and decent retention. Chocolaty, vinous nose with notes of red wine and milk chocolate. Sweet, chocolaty flavor with more red wine notes. Burnt bitterness is evident, but it’s no match for the heavy-handed sweetness. Full-bodied and creamy with understated carbonation. Finishes chocolaty and sweet with only hints of bitterness. Tastes and feels more like a foreign stout to me. Good stuff!
