The aroma has plenty of roast and coffee. The flavors are fairly decent, leaning towards roasted malt, coffee, and a decent hop profile. It’s downfall is that it’s not that big (especially for a style defined by being big) and it’s quite thin. Certainly worth trying, but it certainly is not in the top of it’s style. Nothing too special baout this stout. It's tasty, but I've had better. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 26, 2002 this was definately much more thin than the rogue imperial that i sampled the night before-this is more of a robust porter than anything, but none the less, a good brew. Just a bit to thin to be an imperial stout though. baobubba (451), Corvallis, Oregon, USA

An aroma of roasted malts, cold coffee, cola, touch of hop spice, bread, and sourness. Prickley medium-full body. Very smooth. Taste is like caramel sauce with chocolate and roasted flavors. Touch of licorice in the finish, mostly roasted though. Pretty good stuff. raindog (559), Evansville, Indiana, USA

Very roasty aroma, with some black malt and hop undertones.Medium body. Thin, oily mouthfeel. Clean, roasty and dark malt flavors. Maybe a hint of vanilla and caramel. Finish is hoppy, and roasty caramel. Lingering leaf hops and fudge. Finish is similar to Storm king, not as full, but the hoppiness is similar. This has the roastiness it boasts, very full in aroma and flavor. Not a nightcap Imperial but a good, easy drinking one. heemer77 (4313), Savannah, Missouri, USA

This has a relatively thin mouthfeel. This is very black and had some lacing. The taste is smooth with caramel and light chocolate. envane (251), Evanston, Illinois, USA

The stats on the bottle tell the story: 8.5% ABV, 45 IBU, this is not the most extreme imperial but who cares? This is a somewhat sweet stout with lots of roast and smokey, choclate, and liquorish notes. More like a foreign stout. JoeMcPhee (5056), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 31, 2008 12 oz bottle. Very dark black beer with a creamy tan head. Aroma is fairly subtle. Heavy roasted malts present themselves in a fairly savoury/leathery base. Dark chocolate, licorice and a bit of cocoa. Lingering roastiness, light vanilla and milk chocolate. It’s not really bad, per se... but it’s not all that good either.
