Can. Clear gold, light amber body. Frothy off-white head, diminishing. Moderate aroma of resin, pine, toasted grain, biscuit, citrus. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Resin, pine tastes balanced with sweet malts. Slight huskiness. The aroma and flavor are a bit muted, but still a solid, balanced IPA.

Whole Foods, Bowery 355ml can ($3): Pours a copper with a white head and some lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, light malt, and some flowers. Taste is hoppy, but very much not bitter. This is pretty much a lot of fruitiness. Body is light. Mouthfeel is pleasant. Feels like an APA, methinks.

12 oz. can. Floral, fruity aroma features mango, peach, grapefruit, strawberry, and perfume scents. Dirt and chalk dryness in the smell. Bran muffin and pine scents. Complex aroma that changes as the imbiber sniffs. Very pleasant and just what one wants out of an American IPA aroma. Pours a slightly hazy orange-gold that produces a great glow in the light of the sun. Moderate amount of beige head and good lacing. Attractive and appetizing appearance. Flavors of citrus (especially grapefruit) and pine from the hops. Peach, apricot juice, and sweet muffin. Solid American IPA flavor. Dry finish and very light, dry aftertaste. Soft in the palate, not unlike one of my favorite IPAs, Surly Furious. Light to moderate body. Easy to drink. Wow, Two Brothers Outlaw India Pale Ale is surprisingly good; I’m very impressed! I must say that I am befuddled by the lowly reviews of this outstanding beer on this site. It is refreshing, aromatic, tastes good, looks good, and feels good. For what more can you ask? We’ve all tried many an IPA. I think this is one of the best on the market. It is definitely on the soft, floral, and sweet side of the style, despite what the name may suggest, and perhaps that plays a part in throwing off other raters.

Fresh can to a pint glass. Pours a clear yellow orange with a finger of white head and ok lacing. Aroma is pine resin, floral hops, and caramel. Taste is a little hoppy up front. It is mostly dominated by a bready, caramel malt. There are biting, piney hops in the back. Mouthfeel is somewhat chewy and easy to drink. Pretty decent session IPA.
