Outlaw IPA is now available at the Two Brothers Tap House. It uses two new hop varieties. Caramel malt undertones, floral hop notes, soft and pleasant.

On cask. Pour is a clear copper with a large white head. Aroma is decently hopped with some notes of caramel. Flavor is ever better. A big mango fruityness with just caramel malt to give this some body. I thought this was a damn fine Ipa. Maybe the cask version trumps the can.

12 oz. Can pours a cloudy amber leaving a 1 finger khaki head with good lacing. A: sweet, sugary citrus, hint of lemongrass, bready malt. M: med carbonation, citrus up front followed by creamy, bready malt with virtually no hop presence at all. If this is a take on a West Coast IPA then they got the malt part mostly right, but the hop part is missing. Almost doesn’t even taste like a IPA. Sadly, was hoping for a nice hop bitterness but that was sorely lacking.

can - Pours hazy orange with a one finger well lacing head. It has a very citrus rich hop aroma. The flavor is surprisingly sweet up front with crisp hops bitterness following. It’s medium bodied. Fairly good.

Can from Binny’s downtown. I’m surprised this has been rated fairly lowly. I thought it was a fruity, pithy IPA with lingering bitterness. Pretty good overall.

Nice IPA aroma, but a little faint. Bronze appearance with uniform color throughout pour in tulip glass. Nice flavor on initial first sip, but little bland on the after taste. Thankfully, the finish is clean and after taste dissipates fast.

Draft at Craft. Pours medium gold with minimal white head. Nose is lemongrassy hops, bready pale malt. Tastes of bready biscuity pale malt, resiny hops but a light hop and nit huge IBU-laden, and some fnishing peppery notes.

Cask at DotLA. Pours an orange gold, low offwhite head. Nose is generic. Light citrus notes, some earthy malt and caramel. Pretty clean overall. On tasting, herbal, medium bitterness and a citrus/floral slant. Not much complexity. Caramel finish. Meh.

Everything about it is pretty mild. Not much aroma at all. Decent appearance. Not a lot of hop to the taste.

Can. Carmel colored with dense white head. Dull aroma. Not very hoppy. Ehh.
