Outlaw IPA is now available at the Two Brothers Tap House. It uses two new hop varieties. Caramel malt undertones, floral hop notes, soft and pleasant.

Nice piney aroma and taste, orange/amber color, thin silky head, some sticky lacing. Astringent finish, semi-dry. Still finding my way with the IPA style, and I like this. Drinkable, not overpowering, pleasant aftertaste.

On tap @ Pour House in Old Town. Pours bright medium copper with thin head. Aroma is faintly sweet caramel malt and a bit of hop bite. Taste is sweet dry almost biscuity malt with thin bitter hop finish. Some earthy, fresh, piney hop flavors, just not much of them.

Can->shaker. Pours orange with large white head. Floral and pine hops, sweet grapefruit. Bittersweet finish. Ok, nothing remarkable.

Deep Orange Color, Medium Head Leaves Spotty Lacing. Pine Aroma. Pine up front, hoppy bitter to finish, malty in between. At the end light fizzy carbonation tingling your tongue, smooth medium body. Sweet, just enough bitter, easy to drink. Just like in Hollywood, some Outlaws are good. So IS this one.

Pours a clear orange with a very large white fluffy head. Aroma of floral hops, light pine, fruit, and caramel. Flavor of grapefruit hops and caramel malt. Okay IPA, good Pale Ale.

On tap at the brewery during a media event. Again, impression may be different than when it comes in cans. Body is darker than the Sidekick I just had. The nose is not as pronounced either, just a bit of fruity hop. More conflict here between the hops and malts, too. Both are in the forefront, seeming like an all-barley battle against an IPA level hop load. Definitely some Pacific region hops involved. No particular hop predominates, just a pronounced aftertaste.

Pours an orange-amber golden with a thicker creamy khaki head that settles slowly. Nice nuanced nose of tropical fruit, pine, zesty spice, some crackery malt. Lightly sweet, pretty bitter, and a touch tart. Softer carb, medium-full body, oily, with a fruity bitter finish. Good brew, not super in your face, but plenty of nice hop and malt quality and very drinkable.

12oz can. Medium off-white head atop crystal clear light amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, some pine, light bread. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit, some kiwi, light bread, pine/pineapple. Medium body, light resin.

Can from Joe and once again served in my GI IPA tulip: Pours a deep golden nearly amber hue with a fading frothy head and good lace. The aroma has notes of caramel, biscuity and fishy rainwater along with some resiny and piney hops esters. Faint juicy fruit and zest pithy notes as well. Well there is a good amount of malt sweetness the hops do try their best to balance it all out. The finish is where it shines with a minerally and resiny overtone, touch of hop spice notes too. The mouth feel is moderately aggressive and lively, dry finish. Overall it actually exceeds my low expectations from this brewer. Drinkable for sure but there are so many better IPA’s on the market.

Dark orange, nearly amber pour. White head, good lacing. Aroma is oranges and tangerines. Malty and piney up front. Not too complex in the flavor. A bit of orange in the finish. Bitterness is solid. Tha palate is so soft, smooth and creamy that the bitterness can’t overwhelm. I really like the mouthfeel the Two Brothers beers have. This one is a drinkable bitter amber, but needs more depth. The flavor washes out a bit in the swallow. Not bad, but doesn’t hold a candle to Sidekick.
