375ml green corked and caged bottle. Pours a dark brown bordering on black with a big foamy tan head that leaves no lacing. The smell is dominated by the cherries, there is also a hefty amount of oak scent. It is tart and earthy but sweet with a hint of vanilla. I would like a bit less sweetness in the smell but this is pretty good. The flavor is very oaky with some brett on the back end. The tartness from the cherries is pretty absent though. There is a hint of tartness but not too much. The rest is some decent malts and earthiness. It is different than a lot of sour beers and I think it is good.

Leichter Kirschgeruch, etwas muffig. Wenig säuerlicher Antrunk, etwas malzig, im Mittelteil herber. Malziger und leicht bitterer Abgang, eher langweilig. Ein Kriek soll das Ganze darstellen. Misslungen. Test vom 12.8.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: -,8,8,9,7,8 - 8,11

Green-glassed bottle, corked and caged, have been holding on to his baby for a while, proud of its dust. Marked 2007 and consumed here in late March 2011. Nose is extremely tart and acidic, definitely expecting a burn. Pours dark ruby-brown with a bubbly, cream tan. Taste is dry, no sugar at all, low fruitiness, dense full body, mouthfeel is crisp and sharply carbonated, bone-dry aftertaste but not juice-sucking. Not as tart or sour as expected (just moderate), but holds its own for style. From the nose to the bottom of the bottle, black and sour cherries are subdued but the dry, grating wood is strong (and that’s a good thing!). A lot of fun!

I had this at the Map Room, 375ml bottle...The beer pouta a supre dark brown, almost blood red in the dim lighting. Light tan head, gone pretty quickly...The aroma and taste are both tart, not super tart. Hard to believe this is a kriek, not much cherries present. Light oak, mostly just tartness. Light feel, decently lasting. A little tough to finish the bottle...This is decent nothing special. A typical American brewer trying to do a lambic, just not quite there.

A: The pour is rich, blood red color with an initially voluminous off-white head that settles down to a thin layer. S: A nice funky aroma to this beer. The sour cherries are there, of course, but the oak and grass notes are where this beer shines. A bit of a musty character is present as well. T: The cherries are not quite as noticeable on the palate, though you can find them. Again, mostly damp oak along with some grass and hay. There’s a touch of cork, and a moderate sourness. M: The body is medium with a lively, rolling carbonation and a slightly dry finish. D: After having Moaten, another of Two Brother’s sour beers, I was unsure about this one, but willing to give it a chance. I was happy with what I found in this bottle.

bottle thanks to thirdeye11. poured dark amber/ruby with a beige head. aroma was cherry pie filling and grape. flavor was the same plus very tart, and what seemed to be a wool character. light body with medium carbonation.

375mL bottle, 2007 vintage. Poured rich, ruddy amber with a surprisingly creamy beige head. The aroma picked up sour cherries and oak, joined by lactic, metallic, and bourbonny character.. lots of good things going on here, and I dug it. The flavor was tart throughout, but never bracingly so.. cherries, lactic, and light bourbon led.. dry, toasty oak and grainy cherry sugars on the finish. Medium-bodied, dry, and moderately tart on the palate as mentioned.. carbonation was higher than expected, and I’m not sure how I feel about that.. still, a very good drinker overall.

375 ml bottle shared by beastiefan2k. 2007 Vintage. Pour is a hazed brown copper with a tan head that falls off fast. Minor lacing that also wipes away quick. Aroma is wood and balsamic vinegar, dark cherry sour, and a general mustiness. Interesting and developed nose, though everything just sort of jumbles together. Taste is black cherry up front, followed by tannic wood behind it, leading to dry finish which is very woody in the back. Palate is medium bodied, with a high level of carbonation. The taste came together for me more than the nose, but still seemed to lack "polish". Even still, unique and fun beer - thanks Eugene.

2007 bottle, thanks to thirdeye11, dark amber color with tan foam, aroma of cork, musty cherry, woody, flavors of cherry dry cardboard, plain finish

(375ml bottle via trade with BA gratefulbeerhead) clear deep brown, tight khaki head. Nose is musty, cork, a humid cellar, moss, wood barrel and cherries. Taste is cherries, musty, tobacco, barrel with smooth carbonation. Nice! One of the most unique beers I think I’ve had to date. Some very interesting aromas and tastes going on here.
