COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oak-aged IPA produced in our Foudres

Complex aromas of oak, honeyed malt sweetness, and piney citrus hops, leads to a full hoppy middle and a finish thatís crisp, oaky and pleasantly lingering. Why, oh why did we resist the subtle allure of IPA so long?

12 oz bottle to a Duvel tulip. Aroma of orange, citrus, faint oak. Medium-bodied for the style, not overly astringent, low carbonation. Some lacing, with an off white head. Orange, cloudy body. Itís a tasty offering.

[Tap] Pours a bright golden color with a soapy looking white head. Nose is of pine sap and lighter amounts of citrus. Taste includes pine cone, grapefruit, orange zest, caramel malts and wood. Long and bitter finish. Average body. A nice beer. Tasting notes from 12/2011.

FROTHINGSLOSH (4909) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 18, 2014
Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a dark amber color with a small foamy white head that faded and left no lacing. The aroma was a bit sweet and tangy with hints of pine and grape soda. The flavor was tangy with notes of fruity hops, pine, grape soda, a hint of bread and a touch of caramel. No oaky presence at all. Long sweet grape soda and fruity hop finish. Medium body. Odd and disappointing.

A: pours a yellow-gold ale with near excellent clarity (hint of haziness). single finger soap sud head falls to shin sheet of the same. Rare and spotty lacing. S: Citrus, grapefruit, oak, metallic (copper). Not a particularly good smeller, but not bad either. T: The oak on this is a bit too strong. Sweet ale with domineering citrus hopping and hints of pine and resin. The sweetness is persistent. M: Medium to high body with medium to high carb. Not impressed. Too much carb for this beer. O: Well done, not the finest oaked IPA Iíve had, but quite drinkable. I would likely pick up Great Divideís oaked IPA before this one side by side. Serving type: bottle 04-15-2011

Bottle. Golden color. Full frothy head. Floral hop aroma along with caramel like matinees. Light bitterness. Honey notes, pine, with floral hops. Hard to pick out the oak aging. Itís subtle. Overall a good tasting beer. Balanced.

glennmastrange (2247) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - OCT 27, 2013
Tap. moderate aromas of caramel for the malt, pine and herbs for the hops, light soap for the yeast, with dried apricot and alcohol in the background. Head is average size, frothy, white with excellent lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is clear medium amber. Flavor starts lightly to moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Palate is light to medium, slick with a moderately alcoholic finish. Maltier than most IPAs, drinkable but not a favorite.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a hazy dark orange with a half finger of white head. Aroma of dank earthy hops and grapefruit. Taste is light bitter. Earthy pine and grapefruit. Full bodied with a sticky texture. Lively carbonation and a long boozy finish. Not bad. Pretty good actually, but Iím thinking this may not be a fresh bottle.
