COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oak-aged IPA produced in our Foudres

Complex aromas of oak, honeyed malt sweetness, and piney citrus hops, leads to a full hoppy middle and a finish that’s crisp, oaky and pleasantly lingering. Why, oh why did we resist the subtle allure of IPA so long?

12oz bottle, best by 1/2/11: I’m a little late in opening this one. Pours a clear deep golden bronze with a pillowy froth of off-white head. Has a lightly sweet toasted caramel malty nose with some piny hop notes, light oxidation and a touch of woody oak. Starts with a nice light malty sweetness and some biscuity flavor with a clean resiny hop balance and soft carbonation before a drier more bittersweet finish. The oak flavor starts to come out more as it warms. A good concept and done fairly well. I can’t decide if it would be better fresher or not.

Bottle. Poured clear amber color with a large frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy flour and sour citrus hop aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy bitter flavor with a moderate to heavy bittersweet finish of medium to long duration. Very good brew.

Cloudy deep amber colored body with a fluffy tan head. I get smells of Oak, vanilla and a hit of pine. It’s dry and woody taste gives way to grapefruit and Pine. I like how the spice and pine in the hops works perfectly with the woody notes from the oak. Some malt balances it out. So far Two Brothers is impressive, Now to find the others I haven’t tried yet.

Enjoyed firkin dispensed at DoTLA, but most recently on tap at Brixie’s in Brookfield, IL.. The color was clear and golden, with decent, white foam to the head, and spots and ribbons of clingy lacing. The nose was malt, citrus, mainly grapefruit, mid-fruit, and a touch of pine. The flavor added balanced, oak mellowed malt and hop bitterness. The body was medium to light with some dryness in the finish. Very nice!

Bottle pours clear honey color with off white head. Aroma is very subtle oak and honey. A touch of citrus spice and I mean just a touch. Medium mouthfeel. Flavors are all very subtle as well. Citrus hop spice leads to a honey sweet oak flavor, and finishes smooth overall. Nice brew.

Pours a clear dark gold with a 2 finger chunky white head that has good retention. Aroma is toast, pine, grass, faint orange rind, citrus, maybe a touch of green wood, straw and a touch of pitted fruit. Flavor is caramel, toasty malt, cooked fruit, light buttery wood notes, pine, citrus and planty hop notes. Palate is lightish bodied, with a somewhat creamy entry, moderate and fairly sharp carbonation and dry finish. Decent IPA, a little heavy on the planty and pine hops though.

Tap at Blind Tiger a muted golden amber with a thin white head. Nose was hoppy and on the sweeter side of hops. Nicely balanced ipa with a solid malt base. Slightly sticky hops but on the session side of beers. An easy drinking beer that has nice flavors.finish has a hint of sour which enhances the beer nicely  It’s like a hoppy pale Ale or a light ipa. Very tasty.

12 oz bottle. Pours a glowing golden with a small white head. Aroma is citric, fruity, a little bit piney, some woody herbal notes. Nicely balanced, very soft. Flavor is really nice, soft citric, almost a creamsicle type of note. Picks up a light piney bitterness, but actually getting softer in the finish. Again a bit herbal and nice and mellow. Medium body and a soft carbonation. Nice IPA, different but very drinkable and smooth for the abv
