3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap on Clark St Ale Houseís hand pull. Looks like a cask beer should with a big fluffy soapy head. Hop notes are restrained and are almost just highlights to the toasty and somewhat lactic sweetness. Peaches and cream (which is my interpretation of the oak-derived vanilla sweetness, I guess) linger with some mandarin oranges in the finish. Very clean, almost delicate. Slightly resinous in the finish too. Not for hop heads, this nicely balanced beer is enjoyably sessionable.

Bottle. Golden color. Full frothy head. Floral hop aroma along with caramel like matinees. Light bitterness. Honey notes, pine, with floral hops. Hard to pick out the oak aging. Itís subtle. Overall a good tasting beer. Balanced.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap. moderate aromas of caramel for the malt, pine and herbs for the hops, light soap for the yeast, with dried apricot and alcohol in the background. Head is average size, frothy, white with excellent lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is clear medium amber. Flavor starts lightly to moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Palate is light to medium, slick with a moderately alcoholic finish. Maltier than most IPAs, drinkable but not a favorite.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a hazy dark orange with a half finger of white head. Aroma of dank earthy hops and grapefruit. Taste is light bitter. Earthy pine and grapefruit. Full bodied with a sticky texture. Lively carbonation and a long boozy finish. Not bad. Pretty good actually, but Iím thinking this may not be a fresh bottle.

Bottle poured into Pint glass, Best By: 11/14/13
Standard pour, very little head that dissipated quickly. Lighter, less opaque copper, almost reddish. Almost no lacing to speak of.
Not terribly aromatic, smells mostly of grapefruit, perhaps even apples.
Very easily drinkable, light-medium body. Lightly fizzy. Some grapefruit, light hop bitterness, but tastes unignorably like apple juice. Not in a bad way, just very unexpected from an IPA. More malty sweetness than one would expect as well. Sweet finish that doesnít linger.
Thereís nothing wrong with it per se, but it doesnít seem to stick to the style much. Itís an enjoyable drink, but if I were to drink this without having an idea what it was, I would think lightly alcoholic, semi-sweet, carbonated apple juice.
My first review, take with a fistful of salt.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft to taster. Looks solid; light though. A transparent light golden range with foamy white head. Smells solid too; hoppy and oaky with a well-balanced pale malt backbone. Tastes like it smells, only less robust, with a thin mouthfeel. Solid, but not spectacular.

Well balanced IPA. Bit on the malty "sweet" side for me when I want an IPA but I have had MANY worse.

At the 2Bros tap house. Medium amber-orangish. Pine and critus aroma. Creamy feel. Resiny and sweet. The oak mellows everything a bit, hops bitterness comes and goes. Serving: Tap

On tap. Pours a bright clear copper color with a dense white head with lots of lacing, and good head retention. Smells of bitter grapefruit, pine resin, hops, and a slight malt backbone. Taste has hops on the front that are bitter and subdued, slightly piney, which then gives way to this strong malty backbone that integrates with the oak pretty nicely, the finish is nice and long with lingering notes of oak. Crisp and smooth body with low carbonation

Bottle. The pour is a nice hazy orange. The aroma is a nice citrus hops. The taste is a tad bitter, but the hops overall is nice a full bodied.
