Pours a darker red with a medium sized, bubbly, off white head. Aroma is enticing, being big on floral hops, grapefruit, pineapple, and orange. Taste is much more malty than the nose was. Lots of pine and some caramel maltiness reaches you first. The citrus impressions are lesser than in the aroma, but are still easily found. Aftertaste is pine and grapefruit. Quite bitter at the end as well. This one is full in body, with a thick mouthful, with some flatter carbonation. The alcohol in here does not hide. It hits you right away. This is a very good effort. It actually might be my favorite beer that Two Brothers has to offer, so pick this one up when you have the opportunity.

Draft at The Brass Tap - U Square, served in a flight. Pours a mostly clear orange-amber with a moderate off-white head that laces the glass while settling into a ring and an island of film. Citrus and tropical fruits, with caramel, faint rye, wheat, juicyfruit gum, and resin. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, resinous, malty mouthfeel. I thought I’d had this one before, but it’s been a long time since I’ve visited a Two Brothers offering.

Bottle. Pour is foggy amber/orange with a small off-white head. Aroma and flavor of grapefruit rind, light caramel, apple peel, citrus, and slight booze. Finish is citrus, caramel, and alcohol.

Pours a dark reddish color with ivory colored head. Pine, dark caramel malt, bread, some floral notes, a little toast on the nose; follows onto the palate. Full bodied. Finishes with malt.

On tap at Sheffield’s in Chicago. Clear reddish appearance with a lacy beige head. Resinous hops, piney, bitter and boozy. A little over the top.

Rated on 12-14-2015 (Bottle) The appearance of this beer is a medium sized ivory head with a lengthy retention, transparent copper body, fast rising carbonation, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma citrus, sweet, earthy, caramel malt, and toasted. The flavor is moderately bitter, citrus, sweet, spicy, caramel malt, syrupy, and light pine. The mouthfeel is moderate carbonation and this beer is medium-full bodied. Overall, a very quaffable beer that has a spicy and hop aftertaste. This is a good sipping beer that has an alcohol in the finish. It is a beer that is worth trying and a beer that I would partake in again.

Bottle at the Lincoln WIne Bar. I haven’t loved Two Brothers beers too much, but this is really good. Tons of caramel sweetness balanced with a nice hop edge at the end. Strong in flavor with a bit of alcohol warmth.

Rich and malty body of sweet caramel and charred toffee, finishing with a chalky, funky aftertaste.

Nice foggy amber orange color with a huge pale orange head that fades quickly, tons of lacing. Piney, citrusy aroma with a malt backbone. Sweet flavor, not much bitterness. The label says 124 ibu’s, fooled me. Pretty nice beer!

Draft at Bierstube. Tulip. Mostly clear dark amber pour with a good amount of off-white foam. Lots of lace. Sweet succulent mix of medium toasted caramel malts and stone fruit with a strong hop bite. Apricot pits. Mandarin peels. Dried dates and figs. Brown sugar candies. Peat. Challah. Autumn leaves. Apple seeds. Wildflower honey. Burnt butterscotch. Artichokes. Dandelions. Crystallized ginger. Passionfruit. Hot peppers. Turpentine. Feels big and syrupy but has enough hops and tannins to make the finish dry and astringent. Deep rich spicy candied varnish.
