This a very smooth red IPA with lots of citrus, and floral flavors and smells. Some caramel and toffee in there too. Has just enough malt backbone to not be "Too" malty for an IPA. Damn Good brew. Cost is somewhat over the top at $18.50 per sixer, but I got a couple anyway because this is a great brew.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a very nice dark amber/copper color with minimal head retention, but nice lacing. Smells sweet and malty, with a hint of floral notes in the background. Maybe rose? Tastes sweet and malty up front with a nice smooth finish. An outstanding red!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Clear gold pour with a small head that fades to a messy ring and leaves some minor lacing. Aroma is a great mix of hops and malt. Candied citrus, caramel, pine, butterscotch and light chocolate. Tastes surprisingly more bitter than sweet. Sharp pine and onion hops, light juicy citrus, strong caramel malt. Medium body. Very good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma of OJ, pine, booze, caramel. Flavor: wow, really really great! Big resin with caramel malts in background. Bitterness is obviously there, but despite being 124 IBUs, it doesn’t overwhelm like I was expecting. Amazing job there. ABV is well-concealed, but the heavy, syrupy thick mouthfeel will ensure this isn’t quaffed too quickly. Best enjoyed and savored one big slow sip at a time. VERY strong ale for sure.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours clear bronze with a soapy tan head. The aroma has pineapple / pine / dank hops with some sweet toasty malt and some syrup notes. It has a medium / full body that’s slick and has softish carbonation. The flavor starts with pineapple hops, syrupy malt, spice, pine and dark candy. The finish has more pine, earthy and wood added along with some alcohol shows. Good for the style.

Super malty and boozy red ale. Very tough to drink. Smells boozy and had a bottle pour at a friends. Pours red in color. Not good.

I thought this one sounded like a unique style, "Imperial Red", but it really wound up just being a slightly reddish colored imperial IPA. It was heavy on the hops, still good overall.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured up on tap at the Gilbert W.o.B. where it exhibits a nice looking mahogany colored body that supports a tan head that leaves behind some sheet lacing. The aroma offers up some roasted malts, pine hops and a bit of earthy sort of nutty notes. The taste hits first with malts and some malt roastiness before chocolate malts and coffee help usher in some resiny pine hops and spicy black licorice as well as mild earthy tea like notes, nice. Toward the finish the roasted malts come forward. Nice brew with plenty of hops and varied malts to keep it interesting.

12oz bottle. Pours dark amber with lacing and legs. Alcohol nose followed by pine and citrus. Big bold sweet flavors supported by a strong backbone of hop flavors and bitterness, (124 IBUs). Great balance and smooth. Full body with burn. Love this one!

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught. Reddish amber with creamy large beige head, candy aroma, medium carbonation, taste starts slightly sweet but quickly turns into a hoppy one, long finish with caramel aftertaste. Quite interesting sequence of tastes.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear chestnut pour with a 1 finger, creamy tan head that has good retention. Aroma is caramel, muted tree fruit, sweet citrus, dull, but fresh pine, and hints of hop spiciness and pine. Flavor is caramel, mild almost cashew toffee-like nutty and buttery notes, smooth, sweet and toasty woody notes, a little bready yeast, sweet, cooked tree fruit, a hint of caramelized stone fruit and toasted pine. Medium body, lightly chewy to lightly syrupy entry, bordering on dry, medium, blanketing and sharp carbonation and dry, slightly astringent finish. This stuff is really good, though despite many possible descriptors nothing stands out very strongly in the flavor, or aroma. That makes it seem somewhat plain despite being pretty flavorful and extremely well balanced. It’s weird... Dangerously drinkable, nearly on par with Hopslam and very few others, in that regard.
