COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Buddy, pal, mate, brother (or sister) from another mother, compadre . . . sidekick. All of these are ways to describe someone or something that is always at your side. Sidekick extra pale ale is one of those things. This golden colored ale is loaded with juicy citrus and passion fruit hop aroma yet balanced with malt and hop character. A true companion.

nose is clean, wet grains fairly balanced with lightly acidic fruity hops. soapy head atop well polished gold body fades with moderate speed. flavor is inverse of nose - hops first; lip smacking lime, grapefruit. grains wash out later leaving palate refreshed. metallic twinge enters nose later.

12 oz. can poured to a Czech-pils glass at Lunar Brewing Co. with a clear golden hue, frothy and fairly lasting, soft white head foam, and good cling to the ribbons & spots of lacing. The nose was expressive and sweetened grapefruit & tropical fruit notes, along with a smooth but light maltiness. Fresh, light to medium bodied, lively carbonated, with a medium hop bitterness that was nicely in harmony with the malt. Crisp, clean and very sessionable.

Golden yellow pour with a white head. Aroma is light fruity hops and malt. Taste is the same as the aroma. Light and refreshing. Leaves a nice hop aftertaste. OK lacing.

Draft to taster. Looks decent; light for an APA though. A transparent light gold with white head and lively carbonation. Smells solid; citrus and passionfruit hops with a nicely balanced semi-sweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with a touch of mango too. Nice and light on the palate. A good example of the style.

Draft. Pours a pale gold with a white head of foam. Aroma is citraus and juicy tropical fruits. Mango perhaps. Taste is that juicy tropical fruit again and that reigns throughout. This is a great APA.

Pours golden orange with a big creamy white head. The aroma brings pleasant sweet citrus notes from the hops, so nice. The flavor is a bit crisp and juicy at the same time, excellent for the summer. The hops settle easily and smoothly on the tongue, not biting at all.

Pours clear gold with white head. Aroma is floral and citrus hops. Has a Nice little piney hoppy bite. A perfect amount of spicy peppery taste also that adds alot. Very crisp and refreshing, easy to drink but nice hop profile. Has a nicely balanced grainy malt back end to it. Really good pale ale.

Nearly clear, pale gold pour with a 1 finger, creamy white head. Surprisingly big aroma, lots of citrus, a little pine, some tropical fruit and catbox, a little crystal malt sweetness, toast and bready, fruity yeast. Flavor is similarly pretty intense on the hop side, lots of citrus, more tropical fruit than the aroma, cat box and some nice, light toasty slightly sweet malt with some crisp minerality, lingering acidic hop bite and fruity yeast to the finish. Light body with a slightly creamy, dry entry, and off dry, slightly juicy finish and a nice moderate strength, slightly sharp carbonation and lingering acidic hop bite. This is a great lawnmower beer, light and refreshing, but with tons to juicy hop aroma and flavor that finishes clean and crisp.

12 oz can from the Binnys Singles Rack (Naperville, IL). Pours a nice straw golden hue, touch of orange darker glow, faint haze but near transparent. Good carbonation and frothy whitish head atop dies to a small filmy layer, laces small. Aromas are decent fruitiness, melon and gumball, touches of tropical fruit, and mellow citrus. Some florals, soap, light bready malts and grass. Mellow bitter hop nose, nice fresher fruity quality with some decent diversity and more trendy profile that I dig. Initial is lighter end of the fold, decent bitterness up front shows florals and some mellow fruit, lemon and grapefruit. Decent citrus, some tropical fruit, gumball and Amarillo like lusher fruit presence. Middle is a touch spicy, bitter, and bready. Grainy malts move on with some good fruit, tropical fruit and Amarillo, grapefruit juice and lemons. Some florals, oranges. Backend throws some decent graininess, decent bitter florals and citrus. Light in body overall, the flavors are more gentle but enjoyable. A bit clean, mellow body, as the finish throws more florals, earthy bitter, some dandelion and grass. Pretty solid small bodied Pale, clean and summery with some decent flavors. Actually a pretty nice one. Would revisit. Probably deserves a 3.6.. But I just found it hard where to place that extra point. It’s a pretty nice beer though. Probably one of the few out of very few Two Brothers beers I’d buy more regularly.
