3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Swirl by 9/23/13. Pours out a weird yellowish green color with a somewhat sticky looking foamy head. Smells like a typical melange of tropical hops, mango, pineapple a tiny bit of pine and the residual onion smell. Taste like more of the same with a good cleansing bitterness finishing with a sweet maltiness. Palate is average. Overall an okay pale ale with a tropical hop twist. Taste is just too familiar to several other Chicago canned beers

Cloudy lemon with frothy head and moderate carbonation. Grassy aroma. Light sugary malts balanced with citrus rind hops. Not impressive on first taste but improves half way down the glass, especially the hop profile. Very nice.

12 oz bottle purchased as a single at the Hy Vee near Drake in Des Moines, Iowa. Swirl by stamped 12/30/15 on the bottom of the can. The pour is a hazed yellow gold with a small white head. The aroma is faint grass, dank and a bit of resin. The taste is the nice resin, softly dank with lemon citrus and cereal grain underneath the hop. The palate is light bodied with soft natural carbonation and a dry mineral resin in the soft bitter finish. Solid Pale Ale.

Exactly what they said and are going for. The hops add the extra for the almost ipa, but it’s still a lower level of the pale variety. Pine scent and a touch of citrus hops. The taste is refreshing and easy. Not over or underwhelming. Bottle

Great beer when you rate it for what it is. Only 5.1% so you can drink it all day, yet still has plenty of hop flavor. As pale ales go, I really can only think of a few that do it better. This is my summer go to beer. Hoppy, crisp, good floral aroma, drinkable all day. Nuff said.
