COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Buddy, pal, mate, brother (or sister) from another mother, compadre . . . sidekick. All of these are ways to describe someone or something that is always at your side. Sidekick extra pale ale is one of those things. This golden colored ale is loaded with juicy citrus and passion fruit hop aroma yet balanced with malt and hop character. A true companion.

This stuff is good. Two Brother’s didn’t let the light color and relatively low gravity stop them from giving this a huge hop aroma. I might guess citra is involved somewhow but whatever hops they used to finish lent a good bit of peach character along w/ the usual citrus and pine. This is a lighter beer very much on the drinkable side. My two complaints are that it doesn’t really have enough bitterness in the finish and is a bit undercarbonated for the style which makes it come off as water. If this were either a little more bitter or a little more spritzy, I think it’d be great.

Can, de et partagée avec Omgrich. BB 02/23/2016.

Thanks! 355 ml. can sampled @ “Tim’s Christmas Tasting”. BBF 23/02/2016. Golden, little white head. Nose is weird plastic hops, onion, weird herbs, floral, lemon, light sweetness. Taste is bit odd, dry, doughy yeast, plastic onion, floral, plastic grapefruit, weird bitter herbs, white grape. Quite dry body with light powdery yeast. Not bad but the hop profile on this one is a wee odd for me in order to fully get into it.

Nice golden color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of floral hops, pine, some fruit, & citrus; Flavor of slight sweet malt, pine hops, and citrus (notably grapefruit); Finish is fairly bitter; Nicely balanced; Pretty good actually.

bottle @ Jungle Jim;s / Eastgate OH --- Nearly clear light amber color, out-of-control white head that finally settles to a frothy 2" cover, clouds of lace. Taste is wheat that balloons into a semi-sweet tropical fruit bubble on the swallow, moving directly to mild hops in the finish. Although not strong, the hops linger long enough to be the "last man standing." Certainly different, but it works well as a palate cleansing brew.

Rated on 7-18-2015 at Three Rivers Beer Review, Fort Wayne, IN. This bottled beer is presented with a very small ivory head that is mostly lasting, transparent yellow body, very little fast rising carbonation, and no lacing. The aroma is citrus and pine hops, fruity and spicy. This beer’s flavor is moderately bitter, citrus, pine hops and fruity. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. A quaffable APA beer that is easy drinking.

Nice citrus hop aroma, pours a clear pale straw with a large white head. Fruity hops are the predominant flavor, with a lingering tropical fruit finish. Not much going on in the way of malts in this one. If you’re a fan of more bitter beers, this is a nice session ale

Cloudy lemon with frothy head and moderate carbonation. Grassy aroma. Light sugary malts balanced with citrus rind hops. Not impressive on first taste but improves half way down the glass, especially the hop profile. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle purchased as a single at the Hy Vee near Drake in Des Moines, Iowa. Swirl by stamped 12/30/15 on the bottom of the can. The pour is a hazed yellow gold with a small white head. The aroma is faint grass, dank and a bit of resin. The taste is the nice resin, softly dank with lemon citrus and cereal grain underneath the hop. The palate is light bodied with soft natural carbonation and a dry mineral resin in the soft bitter finish. Solid Pale Ale.
