chicagodri (549), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 16, 2008 Pours a nice orange/amber with a thin white head. Good aroma, grass and pine hops. The flavor itself was somewhat plain though. Decent blend of malt and hops but nothing really stands out. For an good APA go with Alpha King.
keoki182 (304), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA Oct 6, 2008 Ruddy orange-red with thin, tan, nebulous layer of head. Very low key aroma..light citrus, cereal malts. Taste is slightly bitter but dominated by very refreshing palate feel. I can detect smooth natural orange juice (likely Cascade hops) and buttery biscuits. Well balanced between malt and hop presence...this is as close to a session as a pale ale can be in my book. Very solid. 502Flavors (283), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Oct 4, 2008 12 oz bottle into shaker. not Quite sure why this is a Winter release, as the site suggests. I just got it at a local market and it is only early October, so perhaps RB is wrong. Nice clear amber color with a good creamy barely off-white head that holds and laces well. nice fresh grapefruity citrus hops with a bit of a doughy/biscuity malt character on the aroma. Same cereal character are the Two brothers Prairie Path with more of a hop presence that bites with a good bitterness upfront but fades early with little to no finish. Medium bodied. Overall: crisp, very balanced, pretty simple, but highly drinkable and refreshing. mistersinalin (278), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Oct 2, 2008 Fair APA with a nice bite. I’m note sure I got a fresh one as the bottle was a little dusty. Will buy a fresh six and re-rate. stankenk (60), Maplewood, Minnesota, USA Sep 28, 2008 ABR ’08 - Pours an amber with a thin tight smooth head. The nose is citrus and pine like hops, with some biscuit like malts. Comes across the palate as medium bodied and delicately sweet with mild hop bitterness. Pleasant distinct citrus hop flavor that was well matched with some malty caramel. alobar (655), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 16, 2008 Clean and crisp as advertised. Cloudy amber color with no head. Mild hop aroma with soem caramel. Taste of hops, citrus, and caramel malts. Mild, not bitter.
