2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22 oz. bottle. Rating from notes. Pours a medium to darkish brownish color which I found somewhat surprising. Aroma of chocolate, coconut, mild earth notes as well. Flavor is sweet, soaked in coconut, chocolate, mild bread and cookie dough notes. Not much balance to speak of. Lighter bodied than I thought it would be, somewhat thin. Medium carbonation. Finishes sweet. This is ok, but not something I would buy again.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a clear dark copper in color with a thinner white head. The aroma isn’t very potent. It contains caramel, light chocolate and coconut, and hints of roasted malts. The taste is a compliment of caramel and coconut, with the caramel standing out more. There is faint chocolate and coffee underneath. Aftertaste is short with that initial caramel and coconut flavor that was initially found. More full in body, with a thick, chewy texture. Minimal carbonation here. This one is rather bland and uninspired.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a dark walnut with minimal head. Aroma of Roasty malt, grains and a hint of chocolate. Taste is the same. Roasty grains with a little chocolate. Not a lot of coconut here. Light bodied with a surprisingly thin texture. Soft carbonation and a decently long finish.moverall, not bad. I was really hoping for more coconut and chocolate. Enjoyable, but nothing worth seeking out.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sweet and nutty with what seeks to be a Belgian yeast strain which gives a slightly banana-like flavor. Has some slight chocolate and coconut notes, but are mostly subtle.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at John’s Buffet in Winfield, IL., and shaker served, showing a clear & bright, walnut color, with a presentable layer of off white head foam, and spots & streaks of lacing. The nose was toasty, light grain, and caramel. Possibly present was a touch of chocolate woven into the toastiness, but didn’t detect coconut in any form. Medium bodied, with lively carbonation, moderate bitterness, decent enough maltiness, with some manageable astringency toward the finish. Didn’t whisk me off to the sandy beach, but a pleasant, sessionable brew nonetheless
