Cask & Bottle Conditioned; Regular.
Its stark black and white appearance conceal luxurious notes of caramel and chocolate and at 4.5% ABV this is anything but austere. Cromwell would not approve!

Impromptu tasting of three Two Cocks beers (six cocks?) with Ashton McCobb. Overall, I expected more from the experience. "as featured on grand designs" doesn’t really fill you with much hope does it? This was the best of the lot though. Black with a thin, long-lasting beige head. Aromas of cold coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is more of the same, some light sulphur. Creamy texture, bitter finish. This is the least sweet of the Two Cocks we tried, and the best tasting overall.

50cl bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - opaque black with a decent crema head. Nose - struck match thing again so sulphur. The dark chocolate. Taste - dark chocolate but predominantly coffee. Liquorice note on the end. Palate - medium bodied with a dry malty texture and a dry malty finish. Overall - definitely the best of the three even if there are again slight issues with the nose.

Starts well but fades to a bit of a watery finish. Warm fireside type aroma and decent initial taste which doesn’t really develop into either a fat sweet body or a pleasingly dry toasty stout. A bit forgettable.
