Commercial Description:
India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.

Have had it bottled and draft, easily one of the best IPAs I have ever had. Bitter with a slightly sweet ending. Delicious. A 7.0% abv and so delicious = perfection.

Pours with a nice orangish/brown color, foamy white head. Aroma is incredible, sweet citrus smell, lemon zest almost. Taste isn’t so sweet, bitter and hoppy and very good. Smooth finish, the lemon tinge seems to linger on the tongue. Excellent beer.

Draft. Pours clear copper with a foamy one finger head. Aroma is straight hops, grapefruit and grass. Flavor is huge hops, smooth and not too bitter, but hops with almost no mention of malt.

12 oz bottle. Unfiltered/hazy appearance. 2 finger white head. Light, refreshing mouthfeel. Strong citrus and pine hop flavor with a long, dry finish.

Have had from tap and bottle. This review is after pouring from a bottle into a pint glass. I really enjoy this beer! Tough to decide whether I enjoy this or Dark Horse’s Crooked Tree more. It’s neck and neck. Aroma is wonderful, very fruity and hoppy. Appearance is dark yellow/copper, and not quite as cloudy as you might expect; my fingers are clearly visible on the other side of the glass. Only other complaint is that it’s a little bit more carbonated than I’d like. But I’m picking nits. It is full of flavor and quite refreshing. I find myself coming back to this beer again and again!

Location: Not my first tasting, but the rating comes from a 12 oz bottle from Norm’s, 7/25/09

Aroma: Hoppy fruits, citrus (orange, grapefruit), bit flowery
Appearance: Hazy golden-orange, about 2 inches of foamy white head, decent amount lacing
Flavor: Well mixed sweet citrus and malts, hoppy, balanced
Palate: Medium body, oily, and long duration
Overall Impression: Nice, tasty, and good IPA. I really like this one a lot. Every time I drink this beer, I like it a little more. It’s a wonderful beer, one of the top IPAs that I have tried.

Firkin at Ashley’s. Poured a cloudy amber gold with an off-white head. Aroma was full of hops bring out a pleasant pine note, while there is an undertone of fruit, a bit of apple perhaps. The flavor was deliciously balance with pine notes as well the slightest sweetness under the bitterness.
