AtlAggie (131), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jun 29, 2009 Bottle. Robust golden yellow, big, tight head leaving behind significant lacing. Decent carbonation. Aroma of floral hops, grapefruit, citrus. Nice flavor - grapefruit, citrus, lots of hops. decent malt backbone keeps the bitterness at a moderate & manageable level. Overall very well-balanced IPA. TheBeerBaron (218), Florida, USA Jun 29, 2009 Copper colored translucent hue with a thick frothy beige head and very active carbonation. A good looking beer in the glass. A deep malty aroma with the essence of corn giving way to a citrus like orange and cranberry smell. The beer has a hearty all around ale flavor. A medium grassy hops sits ahead of a buttery malt on the drinkers tongue. Palate is a medium level just right for a full bodied ale. This is a choice American Red Ale. bluemooner (229), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Jun 29, 2009 Pours an orange color with a thin, off-white head. Aroma is of hops, citrus, and fruits. Flavor is floral hops, sweet malts and fruits, citrus, pine, and some earthy and grassy notes. Very good IPA. What seems to set this one apart is the sweetness which it boasts. randolphjj (88), Raymore, Missouri, USA Jun 28, 2009 Nicely done, Bells! Orange color with an off-white head. Great hops on the nose along with some caramel. Good hoppy hit the whole way through, but it reminds me a bit of an amber because of the sweeter malt finish. Overall well rounded and a delightful drinker. noompa (130), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 27, 2009 My favorite IPA, bar none, be it from the bottle, or on tap; orange w/ a generous off-white mousse that leaves some rich lacing; aroma heavy in aroma hops w/ pine needles, grapefruit and sweet on the whole; flavor is hoppy as hell (more so than the Hopslam even, in my view) and adds orange blossom and caramel to the mix; medium-full bodied and slightly sticky, which I peg to the richness; beautiful beer and one of my all-time faves. matthasson (59), Pennsylvania, USA Jun 18, 2009 Immediately has a very enticing aroma of citrus and lemon which I couldn’t stop smelling throughout the experience. Upon first taste an immediate sweetness stands out laced with a tangy fruit flavor, possibly of pears and orange. Then a hoppy pine bitterness is introduced and presents a well balanced, dry aftertaste. Overall, very enjoyable.
curly (548), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jun 18, 2009 Updated: Sep 16, 2009Cloudy orange pour with a frothy white head. Aroma is sweet pine, citrus, and maple. A superb balance of intense hop and sweet malt but leaning towards the sweet side until a resinous finish. Can’t find one thing wrong with this beer and I love the label. ghawener (952), San Salvador, El Salvador Jun 18, 2009 Bottle: Thanks to Ramenen, the highlight of the Father´s Day dinner sample series! The only thing I can critique is the label, you wouldn´t know you´re drinking a 100% IPA by looking at it! Full, potent, well balanced overall great.
