Commercial Description:
India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.

Bottle. This has been a favorite for quite some time now, but I’ve finally gotten around to rating it. Pour is a hazy, golden/orange with a fairly large white head that recedes with a huge amount of lacing. Aroma is strongly floral, pine and citrus with tiny bit of malt character. Flavor is juicy citrus, grapefruit, and finishes with a smooth hoppiness. All around delicious and refreshing. This beer fresh is hard to beat. I had it on draft at my wedding and it was a big hit, even with non-craft beer drinkers. Now that I can buy this anytime I want, I’m in heaven.

Bottle purchased at Olive or Twist. Strong aroma of hops and a citrus honey mix. Bright, clear orange-gold color with a great, lacy white head. This beer has a strong kick of hops up front and in the finish and a good amount of bitterness, as expected. Excellent IPA!

A big thanks to Kegatron for this in trade as an extra! A - golden slightly hazed. the head dissipated quickly. S-Orange peel, tangerines, fruit, maybe some honey T- hoppy, floral, citrusy, slight malty MF - the mouthfeel on this is great. nice even balance of hops and malt. I can see why this is a highly rated beer. D- I could easily make this my session beer. Makes me want to drive back a keg of this goodness. Another fine example of beer from bell’s Serving type: bottle

Pours slightly hazy off-gold color with contrasting white head that retains fairly well. Nose is predominately grapefruit, maybe with some apricot. Very FOCUSED and clean. Palate is pleasantly sharp with the hops up front, just like a real grapefruit is in sharpness. This is a very assertive beer. The malt is doughy-bready, with a good amount of salt & consequent mouth puckering sensation. Finish leans more towards the dry side of things, with the dry grapefruit bitterness having the final say. Some may say this beer is one dimensional and lacks complexity, but like fine single malts the nice focus & concentration of this beer on the Centennial hops is a pure delight.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine. Batch 9017 (bottled March 10, 2009). Pours golden orange with a thick (at least) one inch white head. Bright piney hop aroma. Aroma does not fade quickly. Flavor is just what you would expect; piney hops, citrus balance, light sweetness. Probably the most balanced IPA I have found. What a fantastic beer.
