COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.

UPDATED: MAY 28, 2011 Wet hop aroma and very full bodied, good quality as expected. One of the best examples of the style.

UPDATED: APR 28, 2011 Looked forward to this one, from a bottle too. Poured into a thick highball glass, the head was white and fairly light. Lacing was nothing special, but the golden color and carbonation was intriguing. Aroma was instant citrus, very bitter - obviously because of the hops, but it smelled rather fresh. First taste was a litter bitter, but then exploded into a mix of ripe dry citrus fruits and hops. The balance of this IPA was perfect - Bell’s does it again! The finish is very satisfying on the palate, being rather foamy and warming towards the end of every sip. This is one to either be enjoyed by itself or paired with something fresh and spicy :-).

Nose is packed full of floral and fruity hop aromas. Sweet tropical fruits, citrus, pine, slightly resiny. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a billowing white head; good retention and thick lacing. Flavor is very fruity, lots of citrus, grapefruit in particular, some sticky resiny hops. Great malt profile as well; toasty and cereal flavors do a great job of balancing the hops, some slight residual sweetness works really well in this beer. Up-front bitterness fades quickly to pleasant hop character, little lingering bitterness on the tongue. Medium body with some sweetness, average carbonation. Absolutely fantastic IPA.

Along with Westy 12, this may be one of the most overrated beers on the planet. I found nothing special about this ipa. Not nearly as good as hop stoopid or even southern tier ipa. Dissapointing.

Poured out of a 12 oz bottle. I’ve been wanting to try two hearted for some time. It didn’t disapoint. My only complaint is the aroma. Other reviews rave about the hoppy aroma. Didn’t come through for me. The malt overpowered the hops for me. Everything else was there for a great IPA though. This is a very, very good beer.

On tap. Pour is orange, slightly cloudy, with a decent off-white head. Aroma is huge! Tons of things going on here. I get grapefruit and other citruses, plenty of pine, and loads of complex floral/perfumey smells that I can’t really identify. Smells very sweet, too. Flavor is heavy on the citrus with orange and grapefruit up front. Aggressively bitter in a very good way. The citrus quickly gives way to those floral notes with a strong caramel sweetness throughout. Very, very long lingering bitter finish. Very complex and enjoyable beer.

12 oz bottle from PA. Golden yellow/light amber color. Really hoppy aroma upfront, like smelling a bag of hops! Nice medium mouth feel. Nice malty aroma with slight sweetness upfront that slowly gives way to a bitter slightly dry finish. By no means is this an aggressive, super resin packed IPA. Its absolutely delicious for those who enjoy hops but aren’t huge into super dry and bitter IPAs. Really amazing IPA, exactly how I like it. Overall: (A)
