India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.

The most wonderful thing about Two Hearted is that even when I am drinking a bottle like this one, which is probably close to two months old and thus not nearly at its hoppy peak, is that even with the toned down hop flavors the beer still tastes delicious because of what I assume is crystal malt that is very clean, crisp, lightly sweet, somewhat resembling wheat. Just a very, very good IPA.

12oz Bottle. Very complex hops flavor. Floral, with spruce taste, maybe some ginger... Plus a lot more things that I can’t quite put my finger on. This is the kind of beer that makes me want to keep taking sips just so I can further examine the flavor, it’s very interesting.

One of my five favorite beers, from perhaps my favorite brewery. Even the name makes me happy.

First beer during RBSG 2010. This was just before walking to Founders. On tap at the hotel. Drank side by side with my good buddy savvy1982. My pint had a nice orangy amber brew with an good sized off white fluffy head sitting in it for me to slam back... but early pacing made me look like a pussy as Kyle dropped back 2 and could have drank a third in the time I put back one. Great flavour in this thing - no let down for the hype. Soft and very creamy on the way down. Some light spice... man! is this a unique taste! Spearmint, caramel, cookies, apricot, grapefruit and thick herbal qualities. Soft orange aroma with candy, more fruits... tropicalish, resiny hops, caramel... all goodness. On the gassy side. A great beer to sit back with my new drinking partner for the week.

Bottle and draft many times. Wonderful IPA. Full of hop aroma and flavor. Very citrus head/start at first sip. Citrus notes just tickle the taste buds. Finishes hoppy with a touch of malt. What can I say that hasn’t been said. A real winner here!

Pours a golden straw yellow color. Aroma is of dark citrus. Mouthfeel is very smooth, which I’m beginning to recognize as a trait of all Bell’s beer. Initial flavor is malty with a sharp bite and active carbonation followed by bitter hops and finishing with a residual citrus flavor.
