| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 27, 2009 Golden body with a thick beige head that leaves nice lacing. Wonderful aroma of sweet grapefruit and pine. Crisp palate with medium-high carbonation. The flavor, much like the aroma, is remarkably sweet for an IPA. Sugared grapefruit and sweet malt fade to a bright pine hops finish. A nice lingering hoppy aftertaste. A fine IPA. thejon375 (392), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 26, 2009 Not bad for an IPA. Yellow pour with thinner white head. Slightly bitter hoppiness on the finish. tsetlock (66), Livonia, Michigan, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 26, 2009 It pours a hazy golden color. A frothy white head. The aroma of the hops is evident from the beginning, I can smell a little pine in it as well. It has a nice sweet hoppy taste with a tart-bitter finish. It is a very flavorable IPA. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 25, 2009 Bottle courtesy of heavy (huge thanks!), shared with ogivlado. Poured a completely murky orange body witha a slightly off white thick head that went away slowly. Lovely fruity hoppy nose, gummi bears, some clemon. The taste is dominated by the aromatic hopiness, again some gummi bears, agrumes from grapefruit to lemon, note all that complex but oh so tasty. Lovely hopiness, long bitter aftertaste. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 23, 2009 Fantastic example of the IPA style here. Floral hop scent. Nice and crisp. Hides the alcohol perfectly. Definitely a hop lovers beer. Most balanced IPA I have had to date. Had this beer many times before but figured that I should take the time this evening to rate the beer. Nice lacing on the glass for an IPA. Bit of citrus but being that this IPA is so balanced it does not overpower anything else. Nice amount of head that sticks around just like it should. Hard to drink this one slow. Aftertaste stays on the palate just like it should, but does not leave for awhile afterwords. j12601 (1181), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 22, 2009 Bottle from daknole (thanks!). Pours a hazy orange gold with a large beiged white head, leaving lots of nice lacing as the head settles out. Loads of floral and citrus hops on the nose, and a little bit of toast. Medium to thick creamy body, with lots of sweet malt. Nice grapefruit finish, but it takes a little while to come to the forefront, developing rather slowly. This one was from batch 8678, packaged on August 13, 2008, so about half a year of age on this, so I may have to see if I can lay hands on a less than one month old one at some point and re-rate it, as I thoroughly enjoyed it, but would love to taste it even fresher. | 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 21, 2009 Draft. Pours a nice golden color with a touch of haze. Big off white head that is slow to fade and has great lacing. Strong hop aroma. Definite floral, pine, and grass notes. Medium low carbonation with a rich mouthfeel. The hops continue on the palate. A mix of floral and pine on the tongue from the hops with some bread from the malt. The hops and malt are in perfect balance for the style. Finishes with a lingering bitterness. I have to say, this is a great example of the style and a must try. I am going to keep a few of these in the fridge! soccer290 (135), Highland Park, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 19, 2009 12 oz bottle. Heard great things, wanted to try this for a while, finally found it. Pours a golden copper with a finger high white head. Really a gorgeous color to it. Smells of hops, a little malt, lemony citrus, and some floral arrangement to it. The only thing I’ve had compare in smell was Hopslam, also by Bells. Surprisingly though, the taste was mediocre. Weak and watery, with similar flavors to the smell, except much less hops and malt. Somewhat smooth going down, but quite disappointing. Wish it had more to the taste.
