India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.

Wow. Okay, I see what the hype is all about now. This is an exceptional beer. Pours a cloudy amber with a huge head that lasted all the way through the beer leaving a nice lace pattern. Smells of floral hops and malt Tastes wonderful. Grapefruit from the hops and a bit of pine. A great IPA without being over the top. Plenty of sweetness from the hops to keep it ballanced. Mouthfeel is full and creamy. Drinkability is really good. A little bit of mineral mouthfeel would make this beer outstanding.

Light amber color. Citrusy nose with hints of malt. Sweet malty start spicy and citrus hops come through and linger.

Bottle: Citrus, lemon, orange, grapefruit.Toasted malt, toffe carmel. I think of a orange creamsicle. Pale orange yellow color. Small head that faded quickly. Poured so sediment stayed in bottle. Citrus flavors. Tad creamy, bit of bitterness on finish. Man what a great beer. No wonder why Bell's is one of the elite brewers in america.

1/24/04. Poured out of 12 oz. bottle, obtained in a trade with igneous1 on RateBeer 1/21/04. Pours a muddy golden caramel color with an excellent rocky, off-white head and pretty good lacing. Looks like an awesome IPA. Aroma does not disappoint. Very fragrant, floral hops and chewy citrus (grapefruit and lemon) and nectar notes, with a hint of pine. Extremely compelling. Flavor jumps right out of the glass at you-- bitter hay and grassy hop elements, still a bit of citrus, and now lots of resin, all with an overwhelming smooth malt backbone. A faint hint of sourness with the citrus. Very active in the mouth with carbonation, hops, and a bit of drying harshness from the resin notes. Smooth medium body with long-lasting finish of pale malt and muted hops, a little bit dusty. Very tasty and quaffable, and truly a great beer all-around, but not quite as fantastic as the promise of the nose.

Pours pale, yellowish and well carbonated. Head is white, frothy and leaves a residual lace. Nose is all hops, most likely cascade and hallertau from the aroma. Taste is sharp, somewhat thin, but with a pleasant alcohol kick. Not as good as expected, but a nice drinking pale ale nevertheless.

Draft: Large creamy off white head, lacing, excellent aroma of grapefruit and floral hops. Tastes very hoppy, quite floral and very much like grapefruit. Does not assail the tastebuds like many IPA's. Finish is mildly bitter. Quite possible my new favorite IPA.

Lots of head (unlike my sex life). Cloudy orange color with a distinct citrus aroma. As far as the flavor goes, to me, this has many characteristics of IPA's and Pale Ales. Very hoppy, hence the bitterness. I used to say I didn't like IPA's and whatnot but I rate them all so high I obviously enjoy them immensely.

Hazy, pale orange in colour with a thick meringue head. Aromas of fragrant pine needles and Indian River grapefruit intertwined with sweet malt. Flavour is predominantly resinous, piney hops with a well structured malt backbone. The taste of hops lingers on the palate, cleansing and refreshing.

UPDATED: APR 25, 2005 My favorite and luckily my usual as well. I love the hoppy floral aroma and taste. Nice and cloudy yellow/orange and a puffy white head. Very strong and refreshing.

Hazy gold with a white head and nice lacing. Citrus hoppy aroma. Sharp, tart, citrus hop taste. Very West Coast like IPA.
