Bottle (thanks to madvike for trading)... Batch 10184, packaged January 18 Poured golden with a white head. Balanced and drinkable and not too much complexity for its strength. Citrus, pine, orange zest with a nice bouquet of hops. A leafy, earthy presence, tang juice and a wee bit of malt in the back there.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Velkyal (203) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - MAR 9, 2011
I am not much of a hop head, but when the mood strikes, this is my go to beer. Pours a rich amber with a nice tight head. The classic aromas of citrus abound, grapefruit, Seville oranges and a light toffee note in the background. Sharply bitter upfront, the the caramel sweetness of the malt body makes this eminently drinkable and not a simple exercise in drinking hop juice.

05-MAR-2011, bottle in Orlando, from Whole Foods Orlando.
Golden with white lasting head.
Some fruity notes on the nose, but mostly this is just a bitter hoppy monster.
Really creamy with fine length makes it a fantastic IPA.
Really fresh, loads of grape fruit, piney and fruity.
I like this. Best IPA in a while.

From the bottle I get a nice pour with a vigorous head and lacing that follows. Appears a golden copper with some haze from the yeast in the bottom of the bottle. The nose gets a citrus juniper blast leaning toward the piney side. The taste is nicely balanced with some grapefruit, pine and a fair malt presence as this brew warms a bit. I love the slightly higher ABV %. Nice medium mouthfeel with a little peppery note in the finish. Mmmm beer!

Bottle from trade with Savvy1982. Thanks Kyle!! Pours orange with a 1 inch foamy head. Head becomes filmy within minutes. Aromas of clean and crisp hops. Lots of floral notes, some underlying pine. Plenty of sweetness in the nose as well. The taste is very similar to the aromas. Lots of refreshing bitterness. Medium bodied and very well balanced. This is one of the best IPA’s I have had in a long time.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Brad89 (6) - Michigan, USA - MAR 1, 2011 does not count
One of my favorites! Pours a dark orange with a full off white head. Aroma is spicy hoppy pine, and a touch of citrus. Taste is malt, caramel and a little sweet with citrus. Nice balance and very clean.
