India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.

Bottle. Pours a nice deep golden brown with little head or lacing. Aromas of hop, sugar, quite a bit of spice (cinnamon). Flavor is fairly sweet with a good hop background that leaves a somewhat drying aftertaste. An excellent IPA and a good example without overdoing it in the hops.

Pours a hazy light orange color with thin white head. Good lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, hops, grass. Full balanced flavor with a citrus hop punch, mostly grapefruit, with a nice hop bitterness. Nice malt background to give it an even sweetness and round out a really fine IPA. Very drinkable.

This is the way that an American IPA should be. Has a great hoppy taste, almost a candied citrus fruit taste. The head is a creamy chewy white. The nearly perfect American IPA!

UPDATED: APR 18, 2008 Bottle. Strong hoppy grapefruit aroma, clean, fresh, and yes, oily. Hazy orange pour with light visicarb and a bubbly/fluffy and lacing beige head. Very crisp, extremely dry taste. Grapefruit and citrus, hop overload, woody, medium-full soft body. Chewy, spicy malt. Floral sweetness and a little mouth-puckering tang. Grapefruit lingers long into the aftertaste. Straightforward, but very, very flavorful and well crafted - flawless, even. Has sort of a playful lightness to match its elegant sophistication. Refreshing! [3.8]

Pretty much the go-to summer IPA in Bellís distribution area - lovably dry and bitter, enough citrus to quench and call me back for more. And a great bang for the buck. [4.0]

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2007 Looks and smells like an IPA should. Sparkling copper color with a nice foamy head. Aroma is citrusy hops with a touch of grapefruit. A clean flavor with citrus and a nice bitter finish. Very well balanced, flawless IPA. Re-rate - I made Stone IPA a 5 because itís the one beer in the world I canít live without. This one is right behind and deserves this high rating, IMO.

Great pour. Batch #7614, packaged 9.6.2006, enjoyed 10.4.2006. Scents of pine, mild citrus, and a little campfire. Wonderfully drinkable; snappy on the tongue, while still being smooth and clean.

This is the best smelling ipa Iíve ever had. I canít quite put my finger on the aroma... definitely some citrus, but thereís more. The taste is not overpowering. Very pleasant.

very, very good ipa, rich citrusy hops, great balance between malt and hops, wonderful lingering mouthfeel and aftertste, a great beer worthy of hemmingway.

This beer pours a dark honey brown that is slightly cloudy. The head is fluffy and a dirty brown. It fell quickly to a fluffy film. Great lacing! The smell is incredibly aromatic that playfully stings my nose with huge pineapple and nectarine hops. No malt detected. Tastes of strong pine and citrus hops with a fantastic understated foundation of oat and caramel malts. Well paired flavors! The finish is a nice sour dryness that makes me want another sip in a bad way. Mouth feel is full and creamy with a medium body and a little carbonation. Nice beer, Bellís! Itís not too heavy, but delicious and easy to drink!
