donrajin (233), Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, USA Sep 15, 2008 Nice IPA. It has plenty of hops and a good malt backbone to back it up. It is a refreshing crisp IPA. dalekliz (546), San Diego, California, USA Sep 13, 2008 Bottle. Pours a murky peachy-amber with a white fluffy head. Big hops aroma, floral and a little herbal, with a hint of citrus. Taste is sharp and clean, of bitter hops, yeast, and a floral hint. Lingering crisp bitterness. Refreshing and very tasty IPA. kpresley77 (133), Jackson, Georgia, USA Sep 13, 2008 Bottle courtesy of colemgm8 pours hazy copper with thin white head. Aroma is strong pine and light malt. First taste is bitter pine hops and this carries through the beer. Finish is dry with nice hops burn. Nice carbonation. joekfsu (138), Boardman, Ohio, USA Sep 12, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with a 3 cm off white foamy head that is slowly diminishing. Aroma of pine and citrus. Initial flavor of smooth bread malt and a spike of piney hops. Flavor becomes overwhelmed and dry with hops and has a lasting aftertaste. Moderate carbonation, medium body, alcohol noted as it warms and in the aftertaste. Overall one of the better IPAs I have had, no shock it does well in tasting comps. bhensonb (4182), Woodland, California, USA Sep 10, 2008 Bottle from D&J Liquor in St. Louis, MO. Hazy amber color with a vigorous beige head. Nice aroma of resin and floral hop. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is very hoppy, piney with a hint of grapefruit. Finishes smooth and tasty. There’s enough malt to give the illusion of balance. Why can’t we get this in California? coyotehunter (542), , Michigan, USA Sep 10, 2008 Updated: Aug 31, 2009this is the beer God gives you in Heaven. does it require more input than this?
I rated this as my first beer, completely biased as I had drank nothing but this for the last two years. re rated to a more acceptable level. still, Im pretty sure this is what God will give me to drink when I get there. sollila (2), USA does not count Sep 10, 2008 I really love this beer! They have it on tap about 100 yds from my condo in Green Bay, WI (St. Brendans) which is rare for these parts. Only bad part about this beer is after I drank the Hop Slam it tasted a little blah... I guess you shouldn’t drink them the same time! noncaloric (601), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Sep 9, 2008 Updated: Mar 9, 2009Bottle, pilsner glass. Floral and piney hops aromas are sublime. Hazy gold color, generous cream-colored foam, leaves abundant lace. Initial flavor is all floral and coniferous hops, with a definite bitter bite. Creamy, caramel, worty malt. Hops turn more towards grapefruit as it warms up. Smooth warming mouthfeel.
