blizzardlover (43), Minnesota, USA Jun 14, 2008 Pours tan-orange w/ light-tan head. Bitter-sweet-tart flavor. Lots of hops and malt. Powerful flavor abounds. Creamy finish. Boquet is floral. Glad my sis left half a 6-pack in the fridge for us last wknd. YES! 12many (231), Ohio, USA Jun 14, 2008 Orange and hazy in the glass with a moderate head which sticks around for a while. Citrusy hops (grapefruit and orange). Leaves very clean and refreshing. Will drink again. Bigmmartin (366), Dayton, Ohio, USA Jun 14, 2008 Updated: Jun 13, 2009Bottle: My favorite non-imperial IPA. Amazing strong floral hoppy aroma and looks great too with a huge white head. Sweet initial flavor followed by a bitter finish. Awesome hops. Always does the trick and never lets me down. Amazing IPA, and better than most of those "imperials" out there. Excellent on tap and in bottle. Angeloregon (2024), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 12, 2008 Bottle from Margaret on a recent trip to North Carolina--Poured a light hazy orange body with a fluffy white head. Nose of sweet, floral hops. Lots of brightness in the nose. Great smell! Flavor is sweet, rich, and semi-bitter, but more piquant and a bouquet of refreshment. Citrus, fruity, and mildly piny grapefruitiness. Awesome! dolemite77 (184), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Jun 10, 2008 Pours a hazy orange, with a sturdy white head. Aroma is floral hops, with a lot of hop freshness to it. Flavor is subdued malt, with hops on the front and finish of this one. It could be very refreshing, not as harsh as some overhopped IPAs can be. The hops in this one seem "fresher" with less bitter bite, and more bitter flavor. Mostly floral hops, but there are some piny and citrus flavors as well. Ends with a woodsy cedar note that is pretty easy for me to pick out, and my tastings aren’t very detailed as such. I would love it if Bells began distributing in my area. blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA Jun 9, 2008 bottle, perfect champagne head dissipates to a soapy 1/4" ring, pure golden color with some haziness to it, light nose of graham crackers and malty, flavors are excellent wth apricot, grapefruit and peppery hops, finish is bitter but not overly so, a very nice IPA beerbill (1917), Laurel, New York, USA Jun 8, 2008 12 oz. bottle thanks to Secret Santa. Pours a cloudy golden amber with a moderate off-white head that lasted beyond the halfway point and left a layer of lace with each sip. Very pleasant aroma of malt and orange zest. The flavor is equally nice with a solid caramel malt backbone supporting grapefruit and orange hops bitterness. Some light bitterness lingers for a bit after the swallow. A little sticky on the palate, which I liked. Very good. arventresca (334), Greenville, North Carolina, USA Jun 8, 2008 Draft. Glad I stumbled upon this. Very hoppy and strong. Like this one alot. Great IPA, maybe best I’ve had.
