WisconsinSteve (5), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA does not count May 24, 2008 Pours a thick white head. Cloudy orange color. As it is drank, it leaves a lace along the glass. Smells great. Kinda grapefruit w/ hops ground in. Tastes amazing. Too good. I will buy for holidays and long weekends or I will be constantly intoxicated. MacAnUltaigh (45), Tampa, Florida, USA May 24, 2008 Aroma is orange blossom and treated lumber.Foggy orange-amber color with lots of fine particles. The big foamy head left wet lace in the glass but it all dissipates rather quickly. Fruity orange and peach flavor. Wet palate and superdry chalky bitter finish. kidmartinek (972), austin, Texas, USA May 20, 2008 Pours orange tinted, clear amber. 1.5 inch foamy, white head. Very floral nose. Hoppy, mild, balanced, citrus. Slightly sweet hoppy flavor. This one’s delicious. It’s strong, but not overbearing. The palate is medium to thin. There are some yeast flavors present even though the beer looks largely filtered. It finishes with a floral accent, a small bite, and an invitation for the next sip. zeke626 (301), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA May 20, 2008 Bottle, batch 8359. Pours a slightly cloudy orange-amber body with yellowish white head. Aroma of orange peel, candy, floral hops, pineapple, and a hint of grass. Smooth, medium body with a light fizziness on the tongue. Taste is mainly hops and grapefruit citrus, but it is well-balanced with malts so the hops aren’t overpowering. Smooth, crisp, bitter hop finish. Glouglouburp (2778), Montreal, Quebec, Canada May 20, 2008 Updated: Aug 22, 2008In short: A very tasty thirst quencher grapefruity IPA.
How: Tap at Surly Girl Saloon (Columbus Ohio)
The look: Clear golden blonde body with a small white head
In long: Nose of grapefruits and pineapples. Taste is rather intense with more of the same as the aroma (grapefruits and pineapples). The beer is well balanced but the malt-related flavours/sweetness stay in the back. A light-medium tartness/acidity. Aggressive carbonation. This beer is as tasty as it is refreshing, dangerously drinkable. I cannot think of a way to make time fly more quickly than drinking that beer, except maybe for being in a coma.
zappafan99 (462), South Carolina, USA May 18, 2008 Updated: May 19, 2008Nice golden body with a lacing white head. Nice floral hop aroma, a little soap. Taste is very balanced with a great palate. A little chew. Malt to hop ratio is great. Very good recipe and execution. Best IPA I’ve had yet. 2nd entry..Yeah... I have convinced my mother to drink Bell’s Two Hearts not Sierra Nevada Pale Ale...good for everyone. Especially her... DWestrick (234), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA May 18, 2008 Updated: Jun 9, 2009Bottle. Bought a 6 pack and completely impressed with it. A great IPA that is incredibly smooth and well put together. Can’t wait to have this again!
update - got on tap at home - amazing beer recommend everyone try this amazing IPA donteatpoop (124), Youngstown, Ohio, USA May 18, 2008 Pours a clear amber color with a thick ivory head, the head maintains well and laces to the sides of the glass.
The aroma is very hop heavy, my nose actually got a little frightened over the expected bitterness.
The taste revealed a much more balanced hop-malt tasste, and a pleasant underlying floral influence. Much better than I expected from the scent (not that the scent was bad, mind you; I was just expecting something far more bitter)
Great mouthfeel, well carbonated but not overdone. No negative aftertaste or dryness of the mouth.
Definately a solid IPA
