Rogueone (506), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA May 9, 2008 Draft @ Barley’s: This is an IPA staple. Pours a beautiful and jubilant orange. Smells of fresh-squeezed citrus, and dried flowers. Perfect balance of hop character. Grapefruit rind, welcome acidity of fresh-squeezed orange juice, and a small budding floral bouquet. Purity in a glass. abcfan (244), New Jersey, USA May 8, 2008 Thanks emacgee. Pretty good brew. Great floral hop aroma. Pours a nice yellow amber color with fluffy off-white head. Taste isn’t nearly as hoppy as aroma, but it has a nice malt balance to it. Finish is very bitter and crisp. markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA May 8, 2008 The aroma of this beer is awesome. It pours an amber/copper color with ahealthy head. The initial taste, though is a bit weak. Not nearly as malty and hoppy as some other IPA’s I have enjoyed. It has a great aroma and a great finish, but the taste in between them is not nearly as impresive. BeerZack (116), Austin, Texas, USA May 7, 2008 Cloudy light caramel orange color with nice one finger sticky foam.
Spicy floral hops dominate, bit of pine resin and touch of alcohol.
Light, but not too light, sweet malt (biscuity, hint of caramel) underscored by floral bittering throughout. Bit of woodsy spice builds at the finish to give it a little bite.
Pretty soft feeling, despite a bit of tingling from the moderate carbonation. Medium bodied. PrettyDamnDrinkable. MrChopin (620), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA May 2, 2008 Updated: Sep 6, 2008Pine, citrus hops, slight malt in nose. Orangish-yellow body with long lasting white head, little sediment. Dominating hops and hints of malt in flavor. Another winner from Bells, but after another bottle, I don’t find this as complex or enjoyable as before. It was even a little watery.
lordeche (397), Quincy, Massachusetts, USA May 2, 2008 Pours amber-copper color with white head. Aroma is sharp and citrusy, balanced with some caramel and toffee malts. Flavor is balanced unlike any other IPA I’ve tasted to this date- citrus and herbal hoppiness slowly emerges rather than hitting you in the face and is accompanied by mellow caramel, dried fruit, and some tartness. Finish is nicely bitter, but certainly not one of the more bitter beers I have sampled. A finely crafted IPA that proves that quality is more important that quantity. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA May 1, 2008 Updated: Sep 16, 2008My favorite IPA. Smooth and crisp with a great citrus bitterness in the finish. Absolutely top notch. chandler0201 (341), Durham, North Carolina, USA Apr 30, 2008 Nice aroma of hops and fruit, flavor is slightly sour, reminds me of grapefruit juice. Goes down very smooth and refreshing.
