Taste is floral and piney with a nice fruity finish. My favorite IPA BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA Apr 17, 2008 Updated: May 29, 2008So, I went to my local sports bar, and much to my surprise, they had this on tap! So of course, it deserves a re-rate. It was just as hoppy, and citrusy, and heavenly as all the other times I’d had it from a bottle, but i think even a bit more so on tap. I think this will always be on my top 5 list, as it is THE most perfectly crafted beer I have ever had. jpaliga10 (7), Indiana, USA does not count Apr 17, 2008 Poured a golden orange color with a very thin head. Head retention was minimal and patchy. Aroma was not as strong as expected but good hints of citrus were present. Flavor was commanding with a great strong hoppy finish. Clean, keeps you wanting more... ebrowner88 (113), Rice, Minnesota, USA Apr 11, 2008 Pours hazy gold with a 1 finger head. Nose is of rasins and spruce and then spruce and raisins .... and hops. Taste is a fruity (almost grapefruit but not quite) folowed malty sweetness and then by hoppy bitterness. I am not a pale ale guy but I can appreciate the work that went into this. It is extremely well thought out in it’s complexities. It is hard for me to get over the spruce nose when I take a sip. That being said, if you are of the IPA loving community, this beer would be the cat’s ass. pintocb (505), Darsville, Georgia, USA Apr 11, 2008 Golden in color. Very hoppy aroma. The flavor is full of sweetness up front, and tons of citrus in the back. Very full body. Great IPA. I really wish I could get this at home. bierkoning (5985), La Tropica, Netherlands Apr 11, 2008 Bottle. Orange color. Malt, grapefruit, pineapple and red berries in the aroma. Initial malt character blown away by a firm fruity hoppiness. Red berries and grapefruit. grassy. Pineapple. Medium to full bodied. Very fruity and tasty IPA bronco817 (5), USA does not count Apr 10, 2008 Another winner from Bells, Hoppy like an IPA should be, great cascade, cling and longevity of head just like it should be, the smell of the hops is out of this world, the taste unfogetable and lasting, Bells has once again brewed a winner. From start to finish, this brew is top of the line, bitter yet malty with a nice blend of both, this beer didn’t get this rating for no reason, the aroma, color, taste from start, middle and finsh are quality.
