Spot on for the style - dark straw color, thin white head, fruity/floral/resinous hop aroma and flavor, bitterness lingers. Some malt flavor. If I start with this beer, I don’t get how good it is. If this is my second beer style of the night, wow, it really stands out. Brewbie (220), New York, USA

By far the best IPA I’ve ever had and IPA is my fav style. A great floral hop aroma and bitterness balance. ruskiimperial (60), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Aug 23, 2009 The pour was a nice hazy orange, much like that of the sun of a late afternoon. There was about two fingers of head on this one, with some nice and somewhat long lasting lacing on the glass. The initial flavor is hoppy, and definitely on the floral side. The citrus is quite prevalent but not quite strong enough to overpower the more floral tastes. There is also a fair amount of a sweet malty backbone. All of these come together to produce a superb and extremely well balanced ipa. CapnCascade (116), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Aug 21, 2009 Hazy orange pour, full white head with moderate retention and some spotty lacing. Huge floral hop aroma with plenty of citrus and hints of grapes and grass clippings. Lots of spicy and citrusy hop flavors with a bit of malt sweetness and a long, peppery finish. Very pleasant, easygoing, sessionable mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Really, really good stuff. thooper41 (384), Oregon, USA

I first tried this last year when actually in the U.P., and thought perhaps that my strongly positive first impression was tinged by relief at finding this solitary variety of Bell’s beer in the cooler floating in a sea of macros. While stocking up last week for my next trip north I purchased the above batch number and had to try some for quality control purposes. ... It is better even than I remembered. The color is nice, the aroma promising. Poured into a Bell’s pint glass there is about 2 1/2 inches of foam that subsides in about 2 minutes. An initial explosion of floral hops, but not at all out of balance the way some "extreme" hopped beers can taste. It finishes well, with some almost psychotropic tingling aftereffects on the tongue, and I had to immediately reproduce the experiment, just to make sure...
