I’d be lying if I said the Hemingway tie in didn’t put me in this beer’s corner before even tasting it - but it helps that it’s an amazing beer too. On tap @ Minnosa, MSP. Pours cloudy golden with an orange tint and medium thin slightly oily head. Aroma is big hops: citrus dominates, with pine and earthy notes following. Taste is punchy hop-forward and crisp. The hops really jump out much more on tap as I tried a bottle just yesterday. Hops are super fresh: citrusy, floral, and earthy. Malts are smart enough to stay out of the way and let the hops shine here. Exactly what an IPA should be.

Not bad but I’m also not sure why such a high rating here. I find a lot more ipa’s to be more flavorful. Maybe it’s just not my thing.

Finally got round to having this, one of the most rated beers on RateBeer. Opened and drank on 24th May 2015 in California: poured into a Corsendonk badged stemmed tulip. Hazy orangey amber body decent sized white head. Hop lead in both the nose and taste with a malt base in the flavour. Mild citrus, tropical fruit and grassy feel to the hops, malts just take the raw edge off the bitterness. easy to drink and a fine beer overall.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Brassy pour. Rocky beige head. Lots of lacing. Floral and pine in the nose. Some earthy pale malt. Medium mouthfeel. Taste is a wonderful symphony of spicy hops and toasty malt in constant interplay. A little bitter pineapple. Fresh country bread. Some piney overtones. Finishes perfectly balanced between malty and hoppy. The alcohol is well hidden. Wonderfully constructed IPA.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Grassy aromas, flavor hoppy, more citrusy, but not unpleasant. I am new to IPA’s and while this has not turned me into a hophead, it is certainly a beer I would buy again.

Tap pour at Geoffreys. Nice pour of clear amber with decent white head. Sweetly scented with citrus dominating. Taste is more pineapple than grapefruit with hints of hops. Aftertaste bitterness quickly subsides. Good IPA.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Aroma is of pineapple juice, bubblegum, maybe some hay. Taste is of bitter hops initially, then juicy citrus, and finally a well balanced crackery malt. An effervescent tingle lightly shocks my taste buds with each sip.
