3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at MOTR Pub at Scrawl concert on September 15, 2012. Medium amber color--or at least it appeared that way in the annoying green-tinted Rolling Rock glass it was served in, nice bittersweet aroma with pine and lots of citrus, small white head that slowly left with little lacing, solid bittersweet flavor that kind of creeps up on you, hops and malt well integrated.

Bellsí Two Hearted Ale is a great beer. With Hopslam being a front runner for Bells in the IPA world, this offers a less sweet but still just a hoppy option. It pours to a beautiful golden orange color and has a very crisp hoppy flavor. I think it is similar to Pliny the Elder, in many ways, while Pliny still edges ahead.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours light orange with a thick foamy white head; excellent head retention. Floral hops aroma, with some fruitiness mixed in there. Taste is hop-first bitterness that is very well balanced with some fruity undertones. Similar in a sense to Ballast Point Sculpin which I felt was more malt forward with some brilliant hoppy undertones. This could become my go-to IPA. Just fantastic.

Nice hop balance, floral notes, grass, perhaps a bit of citrus. Widely available, and a Bellís staple.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Keg, On Tap, Whole Foods, Columbus Circle, 19/02/14. Hazed orange with a creamy white top. Muted frozen peach and flowers aroma. Booze and honey-sodden chill; peach, flowers, orange squash, anise and almond with the alcohol showing. Better as it warms with lavender and mint hints. A bit heady and lacking aromatics. OK, but inexplicably highly rated on this evidence.

Bottle. Rich hazy yellow wiyh creamy large whitish head, sweetish hops aroma, balanced hoppy taste with light bitterness at the end, medium finish. One of the better IPAs I have tasted.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy a golden orange. The head is defined and laced my glass. The aroma is hop driven. I noticed citrus grapefruit, pine, mild soap, herbel and floral notes. A very pleasant but not over the top aroma. As for the flavor it is moderate to mildly bitter, defined pale malts, sweet crystal malts, with a sugar additive, maybe corn sugar? The finish has a pleasant bitterness, weak dryness, and a sweet grain like flavor but it fades nicely. Overall this beverage balances well and makes it very drinkable. A must try.

Turbid golden brew topped by off-white foamy head & good lace. Floral, herbal nose. Malt backbone leads to piney hop finish. Refreshing IPA.

I still love this one. I get, and like, a briny or sea salty type taste from it. I donít know what it is, but I donít need to know what it is.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
The quintessential IPA. Great aroma, balanced yet hoppy flavor, and, in my opinion, a perfect ABV for and IPA (7%). Perfect go-to beer due to its wide availability. One of my favorites!
