Commercial Description:
India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.

Pours a deep, hazy golden with a generous white head that quickly retreats--very pretty. ’Incredible hop aroma’ and complex hoppy palate, yet so drinkable. In a world of many solid IPAs, this one still stands out as one of the most delicious and distinctive. Very close to a 5.0.

This has been and will remain one of the best IPA I have ever had. The balance between floral hops and bitters is just point on. One of the better examples of what can happen when hops are done right. The flavor of the beer leave you with little to no alch feel. If you are new to IPAs and want to start at the top this is one of them

My favorite IPA I have tried. I love the hop flavor and bitterness. It has a good head and nice gold color as well.

My favorite IPA. Smooth and crisp with a great citrus bitterness in the finish. Absolutely top notch.

A favorite. Very tasty, not too thick, not too light. Love the northwoods style fish design!

Bottle at Akkurat in August 2009. Lovely golden color, large and fine foam. A lot of citrus, hops and pine. The first thing I noticed in the taste was the delicious bitterness. But fortunately the beer was not only bitter, there was a nice balance and a certain sweetness. Undeniably a great beer!

Pours light golden, like an English Pale Ale, from the 12oz. bottle: Nose is an overall (and I can’t stop whiffing!) earthy effervesence with resin, grass and grapefruit peel amplifying a delicate euphoria of floral hops. Balanced and light and normally I don’t appresh light IPAs, but I’m not feeling like I’m missing out on hops here. Starts out medium and goes into a fuller body. Oily palatte. Drinkability: BOMBER- A good quality IPA. Crisp, clean and refreshing. Rebuy: Right away. #185 on 04112009, DG.

One of my all time favorites. Pours hazy golden with notable hop definitions in the nose. Full of flavor that is not too overwhelmning. Who can argue with a label decorated with a trout. I mean really is there a better tasting beer for that trip up north?
