On the nose: bright hops: citrus, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon zest even a hint of pine. Theres also some rich maltiness hiding there as well. Wonderfully vibrant on the palate and quite full bodied. Very complex flavor profile: instantly struck by the hops but some rich, sweet toffee/caramel-like malt flavors are hiding behind the hop attack. Excellent all around beer. Some are hoppier, some are maltier and some are more complex, but Two Hearted is very, very well balanced and quite drinkable. Close to perfection and insanely drinkable. alSteinFish (3), USA does not count | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Dec 16, 2006 This Ale from western Michigan is currently my favorite beer. It has a brilliantly sharp floral flavor that is simple but perfect. It’s fruity but dry and although I love it, I’d never describe it as "well balanced." Different from IPA’s with biting hop bitterness as it has a citrusy and fruity flavor that blends very well with the hops. Balance is the key for this one. bdigital (593), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA

A nice clear orange-copper color with a single finger white head. The lacing on this was remarkable as the entire opposite side of the glass was coated. Consisted of orange and floral hop scents. Very smooth brew, starts out tame with a killer orange slice taste which finishes in to a strong hop bite with some grapefruit in the aftertaste. Another fine Bell’s brew. Smallish head; very sticky lacing. Very pleasant aroma of citrus hops. You could almost just smell this beer. Excellent balance of citrus and hops flavor. Just bitter enough, but not enough to pucker your mouth. Predominantly orange flavors with some grapefruit in the mix. Finish is dry and clean. Exceptional drinkability. My favorite 60 minute IPA so far. BeNobleDark (59), Allendale, Michigan, USA

The hop and malt balance is perfect for this IPA. I daresay, one of the best IPAs i’ve ever had the chance to taste. It has a very nice hoppy taste without being overly bitter. It has a great all round finish. Competes well with Dog Fish Head 90 minute IPA. Well worth the price.
