Nice head, pretty color. Fresh aroma, nice grapefruit bitterness. Not for the faint of heart or the hopsphobe. Will drink again, and again.

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2009 one of the best out there. definitely stands apart in the IPA world. the aroma is absolutely unique and the best IPA aroma i’ve come across. huge fresh hops dominate with deeply floral aromas of roses, tulips, with some pine, grapfruit, and sweet apricots. the flavor is simply amazing. huge hop bite that tingles as you sip balanced by sweet citrus and floral flavors that are one of a kind. slight malt backbone adds balance to the bitter aftertaste. mouthfeel is extremely smooth. this beer is the perfect everyday drinker if you are lucky enough to be able to get it year-round. bells has really perfected this one. definitely one of my favorites.

In my top five - and I love IPAs. This beer manages a unique flavor while staying true to the style. Great color, deep amber with a hint of orange, slight citrus taste and great hops flavor through the finish.

A piece of heaven in a glass. As one other rater put it, it would be a regular in my fridge if it were locally available to me. If you haven’t tried it, do yourself a favor.

Just about the perfect American IPA. The aroma alone is enough to buy this beer. I’d almost be just happy enough smelling this beer, but to taste it too is a treat. My favourite drinking beer...could buy it pint by pint if I lived closer to where it’s served. Snap this one up if you see it, and drink it fresh.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 Coltrane (108) - South Carolina, USA - MAR 31, 2009
The best IPA I have ever had. Of course, I am biased being from Michigan and ’growing up’ on this one. Still, the citrus and the smoothness make me completely happy. Even the damn fish on the bottle brings me joy.

Amazing! This beer deserves the high percentile is currently has. Might be the best IPA I’ve had. So smooth and a perfect example of the style.
