India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.

Bottle: Thanks to Ramenen, the highlight of the Fatherīs Day dinner sample series! The only thing I can critique is the label, you wouldnīt know youīre drinking a 100% IPA by looking at it! Full, potent, well balanced overall great.

Draught at Bellís Eccentric Cafe. Pour hazy light amber with a small head. Floral and resin aroma. Medium body, oily and lively with a long finish. Solid IPA, but the bottle is not as good as the draught.

Had near Wrigley before Billy Joel. Pours hazy copper/amber. Nose of pine and citrus. Taste is mix of caramel, zesty lemon, and a touch of bitterness. It's good - but I do prefer more bite on the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355ml bottle at home, before I leave for holidays. Into a tulip glass. ABV 7% Clear body, golden orange in colour, with a tall slightly off-white head, thick, with very good retention. Medium lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malts, light floral notes, moderate hoppy, some pine. 6 Taste is nicely bitter, not very extreme, but good enough, pine, light resin, floral hops, some tropical fruits coming from the back. Medium thick body with good carbonation and very dry palate. Overall a solid IPA, greatly enjoyable.

Pours an orange body with a medium head. Small amount of lacing. Aroma is of pine and light hops. This is a departure from the hop bombs of late, so it may be deemed by some to be too light. This is a well done IPA in the 1990's style before the advent of the hop massacre of the 2000's. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

0.355l bottle from Bierkoning. Bottled 13.08.2013. I have to say that it looks really good in the glass this one. Itís near glowing blurry honey orange in color and it has a nice medium sized really cloudy off-white head with extremely good retention and lacing capabilities. On the nose itís fresh, light tropical sweet and hoppy. I get a sweet snowy peachy mango fruitiness with some pine, marmalade and even a little bit of licorice. Itís it punching you in the nose, thatís for sure but itís so round and elegant. Itís exactly the same in the taste. This is not a super hoppy raw American hop bomb, but itís extremely balanced with round edges. It has a nice near cloudy mouthfeel and a really conformable average carbonation level. Soft peaches, a little piney bitterness on the top of the palate, I get soft branches and a little bit of whipped cream. Did I mention that this is balanced? Cause it is. Perhaps not as exciting as I had hoped for, but oh my I could drink this all day. A really tasty one! 30.09.2013

Slightly orange, slightly lemon, slightly Norwegian Spruce. Sweet and bitter with a zesty character. Light amber with a slight haze (thanks non-filtration). Ample head which stays for ages slightly masking the nose. Sweet and sharp with a bitter finish, not unlike a pink grapefruit - pith included. This beer balances very nicely on the palate with medium weight, and smooth, slightly creamy texture. Persistent bubbles make for a lively mouthful. The finish is swamped in citrus and sweet malt, with a bitterness which lingers, reminding me again of the grapefruit pith. Overall this is an awesome beer. 16 oz cans make this an even better experience. Don;t be put off by the fishy packaging.

Of course, world class IPA albeit a mild (smooth) one. In thinking about this beer, I recommend to those who would like the "smooth" version of a great IPA. There are only a handful go great IPAís IMO and several commercially agreeable others. This is also a world class IPA and you cannot go wrong with this one.

A crisp clean well balanced IPA. I would call it a light IPA or north east style IPA (not overly hopped or in your face). Hard to come by in Colorado....so it's a real treat.
