1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle, Cookie Bar, Melbourne
Interesting beer from tassie, unfortunaltey some off flavours combined with far too much metallic Pride of Ringwood hoppiness makes for a forgettable experiance.

Bottle conditioned - very slight cloudiness. Orange amber coloured with a frothy off white head. Medium bodied and not too highly carbonated. Toasty malt with a herbal hop aroma and moderate bitterness. The hops are quite dominant but pleasant. In my limited experience Pride of Ringwood hops are usually used for bittering, but here they seem to have maximised their aromatic qualities as well.

very enjoyable. Pours with a nice amber/orange colour and has great head retention almost like beaten egg whites. Good balance of hops and malt, perhaps best application of Pride of Ringwood hops. Fantastic well rounded mouthfeel too, very enjoyable.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear orange-gold, awesome foamy head. Toasty, starchy malt aroma with rather subtle herbal hop and not much else. It’s vaguely German pils-like actually. Rounded toasty malt flavour with an odd cocoa/choc malt character (?) and an assertive, roughish hop flavour and bitterness without ever being particularly intense. I can see how this wouldn’t really excite people, but I think it’s quite interesting stuff. It’s great to see breweries adding a distinctly local slant to their beers.

Dissappointing for a Tassie beer. Extremely over bitter with POR hops. Don’t get me wrong - I love bitter and hoppy beers - but they need to be balanced. I’m sorry - I usually like Tassie beers - but this is one of the worst beers I have ever tasted.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Went down quick enough but I don’t know if that is a good or a bad thing. Slightly murky, pale amber body with decent white head. Hops on the nose and in the taste with not enough malt showing to make this really enjoyable.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
I’ll see if I can add a bit more than the previous note. What is immediately apparent is the high quality packaging complete with neck label that details brew date - nice touch. Dull orange in colour with a nice creamy head and decent, chunky lacing. Plenty of hoppy, herbal notes to smell, quite appealing I have to say. I was expecting a wall of hop action in the mouth but it never really arrived. Quite mild really, and I struggled to see much malt action, but regardless this beer is well put together and has a nice elegant hop kick on the finish. More pale ale than golden me thinks. Certainly did not get as much out of this beer as eczematic.

I don’t know what to say about this one. It comes from a region very near to my place, but other than that I see no reason to go back to it. Just not to my tastes.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
It looks the part but thats about it. A dirty, skunky nose ( but not light struck ) with little hop aroma and little malt character. Aggressive carbonation dulls what’s there flavour wise, but there is some rich toffee/caramel like aspect from medium crystal which is in balance. But then it’s the tannins that cut in, probably from overcrushing and /or over sparging. That ’weedy reek’ has nothing to do with POR more to do with badly brewed beer, you’ll get this with any hop variety. Perhaps some sanitation problems. High alpha hops are no probs, you’d be surprised how many great breweries use them, this beer has other issues
