Gravity cask at the Drayman’s Son, Ely. Light to mid-brown, clear with some wispy white head on top. Slight hazelnut and toffee on the aroma. Sweet malty taste with a bitter-sour berry flavour near the finish. Long woody aftertaste. Just can’t get into this.

StueyD (1567) - Heacham, Norfolk, ENGLAND - MAR 14, 2014
A mid to dark copper orange coloured beer with a weak white head. A light caramel malt aroma is backed up with a hint of fruity hop and a touch of bread yeast. A dry mouthfeel. A sweetish start to the flavour, caramel, and a touch nutty from the malt, all balanced by a tart pithy fruity hop flavour that lasts into a mild finish. Bottle purchased from the brewery’s stall at the Sandringham Christmas Fair 2013.

Bottle from allmyvinyl. Appearance - murky amber with a decent head. Nose - savoury, like yeast dominant. Taste - apples (slightly worrying) and more savoury maltiness. Some biscuits. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a dry finish. Overall - in terms of the balance, it’s not bad but there are unpleasant notes.

Bottle at ChrisO Snow tasting, thanks to Chris, 20/01/13. Lightly hazed mid amber with a thin off white head that clears to a film but retains. Nose is light plastic, pale malts, grass, light hops. Taste comprises pale malt, grass, hint ot spice, a little on the bland side. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation with light bitterness in the finish. Pretty basic stuff not one to seek again.

Bottle at the ChrisO Snow Tasting, London - thanks to Chris for this bottle. Pours clear gold with a light, off-white cream head. Sweet pale malt character, some hay, light bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Light hay to finish, further pale malts. Simple beer but pretty drinkable.
