3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft from Brewery. Served in a tulip glass, the bartender created a nearly perfect pour with the inch thick off-white head touching the brim of the glass, above its medium brown body. This brew has a sweet, almost milk chocolate nose. On the hoppy side for a doppelbock, this beer is nicely balanced, smooth and warming. Very tasty.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours light in color compared to doppelbocks I’m fond of. The color could easily be described as mahogonny with a tan or beige lacing. The aroma is somewhat earthy with hints of caramel and vanilla. There is undoubtedly some toastiness. Thick malt forward plate and a flavor that is moderately sweet. Not my favorite representation of the style. 22oz bottle

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at the brewery. Pours a mahogany brown with a tan head. Smells of phenolic yeast, some spicy elements. Taste is earthy and spicy. Enjoyable.
