Sweet candy malt aroma. Orange color worth a medium tan head. Sweet beginning with a light bitter finish. Hints of sweetness lat until the end.

22oz. bottle: This one pours a clear, coppery amber color. There was a small off white head that didn’t leave much lacing. The nose is good. A bit spicy: nutmeg and cinnamon, clove, faint malts. The flavor is quite good. A but bready and malty, with some of the spices in there. A faint earthiness to it. I’ll be looking for this again next year.

Crisp amber and copper coloured body with a thin, one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of nuts, earth, caramel, toffee, toasted malt, light apples and pears and some light yeast. Medium-bodied; Assertive yeast and malt flavour with a light medicinal and sharp metallic flavour and some assertive grain and deep squash bitterness at the end. Aftertaste shows some depth with more malt and caramel coming out, but there is a big deal of the flavours that are just up in the air, plain bitter and not very enjoyable while others are simply mild and underwhelming. Overall, a pretty poor offering with not real flavours, no complexity, no style definition and not enjoyable at all. This definitely was NOT a biere de garde and was more like an amber ale than anything else, and not a good one at that. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Stop & Save Liqours in Newtown, Connecticut on 27-November-2013 for US$5.99 sampled at home in Washington on 24-February-2014.

Draft at a bar. Enticing aroma, spicy, nutmeg, cinnamon. Pours darker than I expect for the style. Taste is nice but a little sweeter than I expected. Not much carbonation. Overall draws you in at first and enjoyable, but I wouldn’t drink several in a row.

22 oz bomber. Opaque reddish brown pour with a thin off white head. Mild carbonation. Aroma of caramel malt, faint spices and earthy hops. Thin to medium body with a light finish.

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours deep amber with an off-white head. Aroma of caramel and pale malts, some light spices, some hints of grassy notes, light fruitiness, and some hints of bitterness. Flavor mainly of the caramel malts and light spices. Average texture. A decent beer.

Bomber. Pour is a mostly clear medium amber with an effervescent head that diminishes to a thin white froth on the glass. Smell is caramel with some citrus and spice which is true to many winter ales. Taste is is disjointed at first but is growing on me the more I drink. You get caramel malt with the falls spices with notes of cider and orange peel. I do like the spice note, this drinks like a malty saison, with saison-like mouthfeel. I'm not too familiar with this style, but I think it's pretty decent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from bottle into pint Glass: Pours redish with a decent white head. Aroma is sweet with a little bit of funk to it. Taste is disgusting, overly sweet. Medium bodied... very sticky on the palate. Down the drain it goes.

Draught at the brewery. Smells of nuts, spice, earthy, some tea, peppery. Tastes mildly bitter and full bodied with some dry maltiness and a spicy finish. The best of the lot.
