The Two Roads interpretation of this emerging beer style naturally takes a road less traveled. Unlike other versions, ours employs an American ale yeast and no spices. The result is a soft wheat backdrop that accentuates the Pacific Northwest hop character.

Can (12 oz) at home. Clear bright golden with a medium white head, good retention, leaving some lacing. Aroma is not overly hoppy but there’s some herbalness and citrus notes along cereals and mild peppery notes. Taste is of cereal, herbal/grass notes, citrus, wheat and little to no bitterness. Light body. Moderate to high carbonation. Just a tad oily mouthfeel. Herbal and wheaty finish. Nothing spectacular but a clean, soft and very easy drinking IPA with nice wheat-like features.

can courtesy of tom10101, thanks bro! pours hazy/almost cloudy light yellow with a frothy reviving white head, good retention and lacing. grapefruit - their green skin; grapefruit-flavored candies, radler-like, very fruity maltiness with some soft wheat in the background, peppery pineapples, chalky resin, other minerals. moderately low carbonation, light body - oily; almost balanced herbal-citrusy finish. surprisingly grapefruity with a stevia chalkyness - odd but nice.

Can picked up at Wine Rack at Yarnton Nurseries, Yarnton, Oxon consumed, watching Show of Hands at Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Shrewsbury, Saturday 27th August 2016 Pours cloudy golden with a white head. A little bit citrus but there is also a wheaty character, I get some watery lemon, it’s fruity, it’s a decent IPA but never overly excited by this, I think that the session IPA works better. Pours a lightly hazy yellow a moderately high white head that leaves really nice lacing. Nose is of resin and grass, not too shabby but of course it is not the kind of IPA you will stand in line for. Some fruity aspects to it, too. Taste is a continuity with some peppery flavors now too. Body is light to medium, carbonation moderately high with some fine bubbles that are still a little prickly. A little oily. A middle of the range IPA that could use a little more body and better hop flavors.

Can. Tall Boys, Leeds. Hazy, straw colour. Thin, glossy, white head. Nose has floral, lemony hop. Bit of an Earl Grey tea thing going on. A bit of lemon balm. Taste is light, and floral sweet. Moderate bitterness. Soft, soapy mouthfeel. Light bitter finish. Other than the soapy, floral thing, there’s not a deal going on with this.

DATE: July 9, 2016... OCCASION: Celebrating our family’s reunion... GLASSWARE: Brew at the Zoo pint... quite hazy, bubbly, sallow yellow body that sports a creamy snow white head that builds into small coral mountains... lemon and bright citrus offer a thin, singular aroma... light hay and honey mingle as secondary scents... the body is without weight, a rinsing, cleansing, thin body that refreshes with a dry finish.... not much of an experience, outside of its swift finish... the lemon is its most overt offering... otherwise, a nondescript softly hopped ale that drains easily and encourages seconds and thirds... slightly high alcohol for its profile... tough for me to sing its praises or curse its shortcomings...

UPDATED: JUN 15, 2016 Personal rating 5444, BTLD 04/04/16. Nose lightly grainy but under a big splash of orange citrus, tangerine; a little wheat, lemon, honey. Pours sickly pale yellow, hazy with a hint of Ecto Cooler, and a rocky bright white head. Taste medium-strong bitter with resin, very dry, but still that redemptive orange-tangerine citrus bomb on the soft wheaten backdrop. A hint of spiciness/black pepper, grainy, crisp full body (almost too full). Quenches, and works, but a bit of a mish-mash. [2016.06.14: 3.2]
